would be amazing if he played.  he has been unlucky no inside mids have been injured to get a chance

Bring Back Jack

if it fits with team balance he is certainly in line for a recall

The real question is as many have said.,, what is the right balance of talls inside mids etc

Good Luck Jack

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.  Would be VERY pleased to see Trenners given another opportunity, and for him to finally get himself back to the form he had pre-injury, and to be a star on the big stage.  Would be SO good to see him a part of a successful tilt at finals glory by the MFC.

Time is still on his side, so here's hoping...!

In many ways a like for like, including leadership qualities. If he plays it has to be as an inside mid statring in the centre. Perhaps he could alternate with lewis and vince of hb

Give the kid a run, he bloody deserves it.

IMO he deserves it cause of his consistent vfl form.

Playing as an inside mid negates the need for foot speed somewhat so the role may suit him here.

I think playing inside will totally suit where his footy is at at the moment, and he's well and truly earned the call up. Give him the game!

Remember that Jones has been spending a bit of time at half back as well, and Trengove has been doing the same at VFL level (mid/half back).  Seems to me he is the ideal replacement.  Obviously not quite as quick as chunk but a lovely kick, can find the pill and is tough.  Get him back in, would love to see him do well.

Wide open spaces and Trengove in mix? I don't think so. We need PACE, would rather Stretch in and rotate a few others>

Stretch should have come back weeks ago IMO, we miss his run at times.

Trenners deserves a game on form, reward him.

One of those really awkward situations where you want him to come back and have a run at it, but the next four game we are on broadway - v WC Saturday night on 7; Friday night v Syd on 7; v Carlton Sunday on 7; v Crows Saturday night on 7. Add to that we are 5th, there is a lot of media attention around how we are playing and we have some tough winnable games coming up.

If he plays well it and we play well it is a great story and clubs and supporters are seeing what Trenners can do. If we dont play well and/or he doesnt - the goose is cooked. Hope he enjoys the spotlight.

Play the man. Perhaps give him a running role with Mitchell as leg speed wont be an issue.

I will feel disappointed if he doesn't get a go. He wont have many chances and I dont expect a lot. I would be happy for the club to show that, like many supporters, he is part of the new wave and the old. We dont forget what Jack has battled and the past we have endured for so long.

I love Jack, but I'd be very surprised if Trengove, Lewis and Tyson all played in the same side on a quick deck at Subi.

Let Tyson play the inside midfielder role, bring Vince up to play the outside role and bring Stretch or Wagner in to rotate through wing/half back.

Inside mid and Hb? He is the best performing VFL player and would be an ideal like for like.  He also brings additional leadership qualities which cannot hurt a young side.  As a like for like replacement for Jones, it makes a lot of sense.

In fact, if he can prove he still has it at AFL level, he is a natural to replace Vince or even Lewis in the leader/quarterback role in the years to come.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
