Ox on SEN is fuming Thompson only got the 1 week. Reckons he should have got 3 to 4 for a thuggery hit.

Worse possible outcome

Argh! Next week is an incredibly important game. It will be made that every bit harder now that we won't have Hogan and Lewis out there.

I'll admit that both action shows were reckless, stupid and deserved at least one week apiece, but two and three weeks respectively seems very harsh, especially considering that Thompson was only given the one week.

Thank goodness we'll have Bernie set to come back in to cover for Lewis. Spencer seems likely to get a look in as well.

The Lewis one stings the most.

Against Geelong, we were never going to have either of them play.

Hopefully against Freo, we can scrounge a win without both of them.

But to then not have Lewis for the Richmond game in a massive Anzac Day eve game....hurts.

given lewis cops three either way, might as well appeal his at any rate

He'll get 4 if we appeal

I believe 3 weeks is an absolute joke for Jordan lewis, but regardless the fact that he put himself in this situation is an indictment.

Jordan came to the club for leadership and skills and to teach a young team how to play AFL footy.

Regardless of if he hit him or blah blah, Jordan put himself in the situation where a negative result could occur in a quarter where we were down in the dumps. He stooped down to the level, frustrated by our poor performance that quarter and hit a guy after a blues goal and got himself suspended.

An absolute atrocity, and something he should feel very ashamed of

Our so called improved depth will now get tested.

Trengove Bugg Kent Pedersen Kennedy will be pushing their case over the next couple of weeks.

So is Hogan out for 2 or 1 with an early plea?

The AFL site is saying he will miss both Geelong and Freo games.

I just watched the Thompson hit- I do not understand how the MRP come up with their deliberations. That was far more forceful and dangerous than anything Lewis or Hogan did.

The inconsistency is incredible.

This is nothing new for us. The AFL always hit the non-favoured clubs harder reynold. The AFL never changes its spots. We are easy pickings

We are 2-0 and they are 0-2. Must be the only way anyone sane could look at that Thompson decision. One of the more dangerous and gutless things I've ever seen.

Throwing punches isn't great behaviour but at least the other guy is going toe to toe with you. A blind cheap shot elbow could've cracked any number of bones in Dangerfield's head.

Hogan got 3 down to 2, can accept 2 games

Phenomenal decisions.

Cannot believe the Thompson one, consider Rance's dog hit on Watts last year was almost the same, but with less force. And he got 2 for that.

This is the biggest load of BS.

I wander if we have the knackers to contest.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
