I have called for a second ruckman before and today adds merit to the cause. With gwan having spells up forward it is hard for the oppsotion to cover him, hogan, watts and dawes slash pederson

Have a look at how the Pies went by going tall.

Sorry I can't join the party most teams would have belted the pies by 10 goals.  Oscar was passable but should still be at Casey - he gave away 2 goals.  Jetta, Stretch & VDB were barely adequate.  Frost & Tom McD were lucky the Pies kicking for goal was poor.  Hogan dropped 3 chest marks.  Trengove is just going.  Lucky for us Watts, Max & Bernie had huge games & the Pies were missing a few players.

Go away troll

Been a massive omac supporter because I've seen his growth from before Tom got drafted all the way too now. I know he will be a terrific chb.

Just want to point out his improvement from round 7 til now when hecame back in and numerous people got into him. With exposure comes experience. Possibly this week's rising star.

Viney ends with 30 and a goal, Tyson Vince and Jones terrific, gawn I've run out of words for, frost best game for Melbourne, Kennedy showed he is an a grader and Kent was massive. Petracca just reminding why he is the 2016 rising star. Bring on next week. We toyed with them. Give is a challenge Sydney :)

Negative first. Stop handballing and overusing it. It was so frustrating. Kick the thing.

Now positives

Wow what a fantastic day. just in everything. The weather, the slide, the money raised for MND and of course the game.

Maxy I said it years ago. He is a cult hero. His owned that 2nd quarter and just had an all round game. Love how we rested him in the forward line and he an all round game.

Jones hated your first 4 disposals but you just dominated after that. Just carved up greenwood. Just loved u as our captain and I love this photo after the game. Ck0RJPDUkAAP0Qt.jpg

Viney u are just a tough bugger. Awesome game and loved how he kicked the 1st goal.

So rapt to see Trenners get through another game, kick a goal and see the boys get around him.

Just so happy with everyone and I also thought Chris Dawes was fantastic and did some super things today.

I read on twitter that max said this. Did her really say it.  Max Gawn: "I knew I was in for a big day when I saw Witts in the 22." #AFLDeesPies

Very pleased today to see Dawes contributing. He covered a lot of ground and linked up well.

Also impressed with Dean Kent. That would be his best game for MFC.

Would dearly love these two to back up their efforts next round.

Also happy to see Trenner's progression.

We really overuse the ball but the effort of the players to get to the contest and run in numbers means we can fumble our way through to goals.

Wont work forever but it is a good method of bringing guys in to the play.

Footskills and Handskills were  often errant and a bit flashy/low % especially by Jones but we just got it back off them most times.

Quite simply, those who miss targets too often will not get into the team next year, which is exciting in itself.

Happy to have Dawes in the team. Definitely straightens us up, and adds something that Pedersen doesn't. He also took most of the ruck duties for the final slab of the game.

A few more goals and/or marks wouldn't hurt, but he's earning his place. Only his second game back from a long layoff, so hopefully he'll continue to improve while giving us a bridge across to Weiderman over the next season or two.

It's a great feeling to smash teh Pies, but they let us get away with some things that will kill us against the Swans.  We need to be cleaner collecting the loose ball, hit targets better and stop bombing to the top of the square (yes, I KNOW the coaches are telling them to.  The Coaches are WRONG).

Other than that, jeez that was a good win.  Great effort guys.

His ruck work is no different to Pedersen's, his disposal and goal kicking isn't better than his, yes his work rate is better but that only matters if he does what he did today and held his marks!

A beauty at half back in traffic and several other good ones around the ground leading up and marking out in front.

Let this serve as a reminder!

Col was at the game today and in good spirits.

Looked healthy which is good to see.

If this umpire could do his job properly, he wouldn't need to ask rhetorical questions of big Max. Leave the players alone Nicholls. I can assure you, no one cares about your little tantrum.

I know their forwardline is incredibly ordinary, but our talls looked superb today and will hopefully gain some terrific experience on the big stage from that.

Frost needs to eradicate those brain fades, but his body work and judgement of the ball drop was fantastic. Omac continues to improve and his spoiling is a real asset. Even Tom was great today. I love Wagner's composure. Strangely, my favourite boy Jetts played his worst game since becoming the leading small defender in the competition under Roos. Hunt needs to learn to kick or handball on his left side if the situation demands it.

Anyway, I thought our defensive systems worked very well today and the McDonald's and Frost held up brilliantly against extremely tall opposition.

Gawn easily best afield. The less said from me about Bernie's 42 touches the better.

Was I watching a different game?  I thought Omac missed some easy spoils, failed to make body contact at all a few times - and Wagner's composure was the worst part of his game, i.e quite a few panicked turnovers...

Thought it was very poor of Collingwood to leave the ground before the medal/cup was presented to Gawn. Very poor sportsmanship and an insult to Neale Daniher.

If he had PEDs hands he'd be brilliant as he works that little bit harder and with that little bit more pace than PEDs. If Dawesy can just get that half step on his opponent he will take a few more marks and was good to see him in the ruck some, Watts needed a spell...

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
