Hardly the most attractive though.

I agree but I think someone's already mentioned two first rounders. This years and nexts.

Doubt it was the Pies. They'll try and get away something ridiculous like Witts or Seedsman plus next year's first round pick.

Hope the Giants entertain realistic offers (from us) or bend them over, royally

He is Collingwood bound no doubt after the way Buckley just carried on.

Is this the same bucks who a couple weeks ago said that Collingwood had improved from last year. Though I doubt he is still saying that after their tragic loss against the bombers.

Bucks and Collingwood seem to count their chickens before they hatch they seem to think everyone wants to play for them, they cannot understand 70% of football loving public and players hate them.

$$ will get the job done for someone then its a matter of trying to negotiate the best deal with that club. Hopefully we have the $$'s to attract him and he has obviously had a recent first hand experience of some of capability with that stirring win over GWS.

I really hate this increasing practice of young players (< 23) 'nominating' clubs and invariably getting to their nominated club. If you're out of contract and want out, then clubs should be able to trade you wherever. Stop putting a gun to your club's head and at least be a bit flexible, either that or wait until you've done some hard yards and qualify as a FA.

agreed, it's sickening.

Yep, like the sickening request from O'Rourke to go to Hawthorn.

As Roos says, the players don't need free agency! The system works already, and clubs don't get screwed.

It is on the clubs, they should hold firm. I thought GWS played their hand well last year. They held firm and made the Bulldogs pay massive overs for Tom Boyd. When a player does nominate to go, if the club isn't getting overs - then they should shop around. But the new rule of future draft picks will generally ensure players get to their preferred destination.

mind you he hasn't exactly set the world on fire.

Mate of mine who follows the hawks thinks O'rourke was as big a blunder as Dayle

Yep, proves that top picks aren't the panacea. Plenty of duds at the top.

Makes me physically ill to see how easy it is for young guns just to waltz in and out of clubs, knowing we have the next Wayne Carey on our list.

AFL really needs to allow clubs to trade without permission.

Far too player biased right now.

Don't worry , when he plays us he gets Viney.

Cavorted around on Sunday too.

Already made his mind up where he was going.

Have to be a team player there though.

My concern and I know the trade period hasn't officially even started yet is that we won't get this "A" grader and will be a "B" or "C+" player.

That won't help us much.

Treloar ... nominates the filth.

So what's the real difference between free agency and doing a trade in this instance?

At least doing the the trade GWS should get compensated & not @ the mercy of the afl compensation.

Can't see how Carlton would be out of this (should they want to be in it) with pick one and maybe two . Believe it has been stated somewhere, deal will done on the best basis for GWS.

Remember we worked a little magic with Tyson and Salem and there is also the Silvagni connection. How do Collingwood beat that?

All sounds very bland to this point but funny things can happen.

As long as they play their roles it will.

As long as it's a player we get 100% buy in from, then that's fine by me. Sure I'd prefer Treloar, Dangerfield or O'Meara to say Aaron Hall. But as long as the player we get plays his role for the team then it will help.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
