Sydney have this tradition of applauding every time one of their debutantes gets a possession. I like it. I don't know how long they've been doing it, but it's great reinforcement and a nice touch.

Great news! And to think all the rookie list players have all debuted except King.

This is a major testimont to Jason Taylor and his crew!

I noticed Freo doing it as well last week each time Langdon got the ball

All first year players other than Petracca.

Or a further kick in the nuts to our previous recruitement.

Actually, I think I might be confusing Sydney with Freo.

Hope he's as good as the last White that played for Dees, or better still as good as the last Wight to play for the Dees

Sure do...

I like what I've seen of this kid so far. Something about him has me excited. Captain and best and fairest winner at the stingrays last year. Of course, has a long way to go but if he can make the grade, he and Salem coming off the back flanks for the next decade will be fantastic! Some run, aggression and bullet kicking! Let's hope! I wish him all the best this weekend

Contests hard and has a lovely left foot.

That's all I've ever dreamt of. Sounds like a Hawks player.

Good luck young blood.

'A long raking left foot kick'. Us oldies will immediately think of the great Stuart Spencer. Sorry, I'm salivating at the thought. But don't get too excited by this post. I reckoned Sam Blease could be our new Bluey Adams but sadly was very wrong. It would be good though to get one out of two right. Here's hoping. Good luck to Mitch.

Well done Mitch. From all reports you have earned the elevation. May you continue the long run of former rookies who have prospered as a Demon.

Not as excited as me!

Ok I have rated this bloke for a long while

Without wishing to put the mozz on

1 He has a cool head

2 Silky smooth left footer

3 Plays taller than is

4 Shows no fear

5 Has run and carry

6 Reads play exceptionally well

7 Loves sneaking forward to snare a goal!

Start salivating!

Wait a minute , Bobby!

I'm pretty sure Stuart was a right footer!

Long, raking drop kicks...and stab passes...yes! But not out of the backline..... wasn't he a rover/forward?

He also was able to take a hanger... I think he took the first hanger I ever saw.

I'm trying to think of a Demon left footer with long, raking kicks from the backline . Matthew Febey? Surely there are others! Help!!

Sean Wight was a very underrated player - probably played in the shadow of the great Jimmy, but he was a superb, athletic defender - very attacking and fantastic to watch.

One of the finest moustaches the game has ever seen.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
