Gotta leave out a number of players but here goes ...

6 ... Vince - tough to play well against your old side but he was most impressive

5 ... Viney - tough as ...

4 ... JKH - his first half set up our win. We've found a player.

3 ... Terlich - he never gives up and is super courageous - kudos.

2 ... Dawes - led by example and always creates a contest

1 ... Tyson - ball magnet

Apologies to at least a dozen others. Jamar playing well is very important for us.

I probably (even though he played a really good game) bumped up Vince a bit. But after he called Adelaide "we" a week or so ago, he got stuck in and was nicely aggro, without giving away a free kick. He's a DEE! Good on him for getting a win against the admin that shafted him too.

Unlucky Pedo, JKH, Terlich and Jetta. Have to say everybody can hold there head up today. You've set the bar boys maintain that as a minimum

In this world there are such things as facts. Those who do not know facts are imbeciles.

Dawes - best key forward on the ground and nailed the chances he had

Vince - got plenty of the ball but also held Dangerfield to just a reasonable game which was critical

Jetta - Betts had about two shots at goal....and Neville was very assured down there

Grimes - First quarter intercepts ensured we held a good lead at quarter time. Great spoil in the last cancelled out the dropped chest mark with a few minutes left

Viney- Grunt, pace, and poise

Tyson - Clearance machine who continues to improve defensively

Honourable mentions to JKH: Clever player who got us going with a fantastic first goal. Said it before...looks like our Matthew Stokes. Bail was fantastic in the first quarter and played one of his best games for it.

jkh=best game so far, went down back and helped.

pedders=he is just loving this coach.

terlich=repaying well for the recent turnovers.

carlton and adelaide in the same year.

That's probably over the top. However some have also excluded Viney; I'm assuming that this is also just an oversight.

Yep. Roosy has been able to work his magic so far. Big credit to Pederson too, as he has turned it right around and has gone from an occasional to a definite starter.

With last years less than mediocre players like Pedo, Jetta and Bail going up to another level it makes our list look a lot more healthy. Still can't cop Byrnes form though -doesn't chase or tackle and has little involvement in the game. Only virtue is he knows how to position himself to get on the end of some Joe the a goose goals.

"I think the Nazis were great."

That is someones opinion, and if they thought that, i would say they would be an imbecile.

But you wouldn't. Hmmmm ok, whatever floats your boat.

More often than not over the last few years I've been scratching around among the 'triers' and 'effort players' to find players worthy of the last few slots. This week I struggled to fit them all in. How refreshing that is! Apologies to JKH, Jamar, Grimes and Peddersen, and probably others Who I have missed.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
