GAME DAY - Round 7

Recommended Posts

My main concern is that we wont be able to score enough goals. We may be able to limit them to 10 goals but then we wont score more than 6 or 7. Even against the Swans though an improved performance, they were not far off from nearly doubling our score. I like to see some more freedom and risk taking when moving the ball forward.

I love the way Dawes runs to get a kick. However, all too often, he gets the ball too far out. We need to get forward quicker and more efficiently. If we could get the ball in his hands inside 50 he is more likely to do some scoreboard damage.

Hoping Pedo plays back and Chip goes forward. That's where they are best positioned in our current side IMO. Would also like to see Salem play a full game.

I've got a good feeling about Pedo today. Driving to my grandson's basketball game today I passed a place called "Ped's Cafe" in Waverley Road, Malvern and then as I went further down the road on the corner of Warragul Road there was a sign that said "Give way to Peds" - an omen if there ever was one that he's going to play a blinder.

Fox Footy coverage starts at 4.30pm. The game itself is due to start at 4.10pm. Are we going to miss the start of the game or will there be a "red button" available? I'm new to Foxtel this year.

4.10 Adelaide time...4.40 fox footy for us.

Watching Hawks demolish saints. Clarkson has to be a modern day coaching genius the way he has them playing. Has reinvented Shoenmakers as a forward. Everything he touches turns to gold. Hope we can throw the bank account at hi when his hawks contract expires.

Cant stop Danger from winning it on the inside even if u have a solid midfield. And comparatively our clearance work is the worst rated in the league at present.

And who do we have to stop Danger's work on the outside when he gets loose? Vince/Cross/Viney maybe? (Good learning curve for Jack in short stints).

From what ive witnessed we just dont work hard enough (Jones & Cross an exception) to get front possie in the stoppages amd hence get first use more often than our opponents.

If this occurs again today and we cant slow Dangerfield up on the outside, then its the Crows by 10 plus me thinks. If we turn it around and limit Dangerfield on outside we might get within 5 or so.

If we play pressure footy like last week, the wet soggy conditions will help us out. Adelaide's a slow team this year, with those things in our favour, i reckon we can be very competetive, take it right up to the crows. I don't think we will win, but i would be surprised if we got blown away.

I have been surprised many times before lol

Saints may lose by 150

So frustrating that we didnt beat them in round 1

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
