No doubt fitness affects all facets of the game. But also interesting to note that our 2019 Disp eff is down to 53% (cf 59% for 2018)...low efficiency means missing marks, handballs etc. and generally running around like a headless chook, which would tire out the fitest of us...

Some of our stats for this year are indeed gloomy. Least number of goals scored (64) - perhaps not surprising, but more interesting, the least number of handballs (927), suggesting a lack of teamwork, backing up and players running together.

Thought we were respectable for 2.5 quarters, but what a depressingly awful final 20 minutes. Fortunately the weekend was over by then.

On paper we should be very competitive. Forward line certainly capable of kicking a winning score. This week's result could be more important for team confidence than last weeks.

But you know what, the sun did rise on Monday morning and as long as the club survives there's always another day and another match to play. Go the Dees !

The stats were pretty even on clearances, stoppages, contested poss and HOs. But, Roughhead and Breust score 8 goals between them; Gawn our only multiple goal scorer... We will no doubt be better when Hogan gets back, but need to recruit one more KPF.

Lot's of talk of turning over the list. This implies we will have a pile of better players just waiting to be picked - wishful thinking, creative recruitment? It will take time, and improvement will likely not be on Roos watch.

And the horrendous congestion didnt help either. The modern game seems to be morphing into a version of rugby - scrum like stoppages, dribbling the ball along the ground and scoring... How can skilful players make an impact in the middle of a pack of 10 others when weaving thru traffic becomes almost impossible? How often did N Jones end up with 4 other players on top of him....and not just the opposition.

It will be a dour struggle, no blowout loss, Roos' strategy is to either win or else lose with dignity..
