When was the last time we believed TS and look how that ended up.

I cannot open the link but I agree with Moonshadow!

'Taking shape', means, of course 'we traded away two of our most promising midfielders and are basically reloading through the draft again'.

For a moment, based on the thread title, I though this was going to be something about the way the club gets into a mess thinking that having 'trained the house down' all summer, they are all done and ready to go... complacently into a round 1 disaster that shatters confidence for the rest of the year.

Oh wait... it is an article about that.

But it's not at Melbourne. Well, that's good news!

LG - apologies for the scare but I loved the irony of the world's highest paid outside midfielder being the spokesperson for that little piece of GWS propaganda. It reminded me of some of the garbage put out about Melbourne circa three years ago.

If there's one thing I want us to do in 2014 it's to smash the living suitcases out of that mob in round three next year (in front of the obligatory 5,000 crowd) with Dom Tyson BOG and be undefeated at the end of the game with a percentage of 150. Am I asking too much?

If there's one thing I want us to do in 2014 its to walk the talk instead of just TALKING.

I am sick of hearing how good we are going to be and how well we are training etc.

It's time for less talk and more action.

"Taking Shape" -like a dog tird in the summer sun.

Toby Greene will slot nicely into our mid-field after another year of training with the plastic Giants.

Can't wait till he has finished his apprenticeship.

No Jack. You are the Demonland realist and source of common sense - again! On top after three rounds I say!!!

I get the impression Roos wants that as well when he said in his latest revue video he would like the club tested sooner rather than later to benchmark where they are at. Either he is worried about the preseason hype developing or he is genuinely encouraged about the progress and would like to begin building confidence into this young group. I suspect (hope) it might be the latter. Edited by Dees2014

When AD eventually does go, this man is his logical replacement.

Greater Western Sydney is taking shape, says Tom Scully

If that's true from Voldemort (and his form is a bit chequered on that score) I'm not sure if he'll get too much game time when they assemble their best squad .

has he lost his virginity Yet? mums still tucking him in at night.

I would lmao if GWS put Scully up as trade bait at the end of next year. That would be my sort of justice.

Through the growing pains, Scully said his thirst for the sport had not dissipated. Rather, he said, it was simply about staying true to a plan of building with a young list. It's also a list that has lacked the equivalent of a Gary Ablett, a match-winner fellow expansion side Gold Coast has been able to boast.

Ummm... isn't that why Scully was given the big bucks?

yes it was lol

6 mil over 5 years for a kid that had done nothing at AFL level except be taken at pick 1 by the worst recruiting team in the land

Classic

Funny how the worst recruiting team in the land took the general view that $cully was a top pick. I'm not defending our recruiting overall, but your remark would be just as true (and amusing to us $cully-haters) if you omitted the last phrase. Our club has been disappointing enough without adding self-flagellation when it's not justified.

Dream on. There's not a club in the caper that would take on the remainder of his contract

No, but there is the AFL itself.

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form
