It figures. Culture of tanking. Judd's chicken wing. Brocky and his big mouth and MM and Travis (+ old man) to come.

Still, the above is a bit tongue in cheek and the story's just another beat up.

I don't have much respect for the media at the moment apart from the people responsible for this article which probably captures our own paranoia about the club as encapsulated by the thread title -

Dees survive 24-hour period without scandal engulfing club

Footy show strikes again. 3 pages in and we are all disappointed.

I really do wonder how "journalists" like this break these "stories" with a straight face. Big build up, serious expression like they're delivering the news about 9/11. Christ almighty. I'd look at myself in the mirror every day and go, "how did I become this?"

MM = Dennis Pagan.

Reckon it'll be the new age coaches from now on. Longmire, Clarko, Lyon, Sanderson, Buckley, Hardwick. Sanderson, Scott(s)

Malthouse/Sheedy will be surpassed like Barassi/Hafey/Jeans before them.

Well from what I saw I think the news was that the carlton assistants have got lawyers onto Carlton about there terminated contracts. No big deal from our point of view. Oh and also in Christi malthouses new book there is one interesting chapter you cant miss. Anyway it wasnt us and thats the main thing.

.... DB is 'holding onto a story'

Heck even hutchy could figure that out some of our players are not happy, I'll admit DB ain't much higher up the food chain, but its not THAT exciting.

I think you might have your food chains back to front. I think Damien Barrett is an employee of Crocmedia, Craig Hutchison's media company. Which makes Hucthy Barrett's boss.

Too many mates who are supporters, and Bombers supporters are the most ignorant and arrogant there is.

2000 Grand Final didn't help either...

So much truth and worth posting again.

Anyhow, let's hope Eddie's story this Wednesday that is supposed to "blow the footy world apart" is a bit more interesting than this garbage.

"Sacked asst coaches looking at their legal options" - stop the presses!!

Eddie can certainly drum up a bit of interest, he'll have half of Australia watching Wednesday night.

Theres not really many things that would 'blow the football world apart' either.

He seems to think its his biggest story in 30 years of being a journo!

From what I heard it's about a superstar player coming out of closet, the other rumour is a scandal that would take all three premierships away from Brisbane.

LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die! It’s Indigenous Round for this game and the chance to celebrate and engage with Aboriginal and Torres

Failed to fulfill the promise of his breakout six goal effort against the Tigers in 2023 and was generally disappointing as a key forward. It remains to be seen whether Simon Goodwin will persevere with him in attack or return him to the backline where he was an important cog in the club’s 2021 premiership success. After a bright start to the season, playing mostly in defence, Howes seemed to lose his way in midseason but fought back with some good performances at Casey and finished the year back at AFL level. Originally an NBL basketballer with the Brisbane Bullets, he moved across town in 2019 to the AFL Lions where he played 19 games before crossing to Melbourne where he was expected to fill a role as a back up ruckman/key forward. Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final. His loss to the club was inestimable over and above his on field talent given his character and leadership qualities, all of which have been sorely missed. The son of former Demon Brownlow Medalist Shane, Taj added a further 16 games to his overall tally of games but a number were as substitute.
