Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Well I am a fine role model.

My advice -

         1. Switch to shiraz.

         2. Give your missus/sheila a jolly good flogging.

I like Shiraz, but would have whiskey any day of th3 week over it, and my wife set this up.

Comments from this moment on may not make much sense... wait, mine never do... ha ha

How about that?

We've won one in a row against North!!!

Yeah good...  now   have to win at least one from hawks and Tiges.  Worried first 15 minutes but the job was adequately done after that.  Happy Bugg and kent did well. lewis better too.      Beauty Gawn and Hogan !!         should be 3  and 0   but thats life !!!

I liked Goodwin's comments after the game that they had embraced the hoodoo and he had spoken about this being an opportunity to continue to change the culture around the footy club.  We've allowed to be beaten mentally for too long, and this is another step on our way to being a mature team that embraces a challenge, rather than allowing it to consume us.

Not turning up until we were 15 minutes into the game worries me.

I'll consider getting carried away if we clean up Hawthorn next week.

I,ve suffered too many false dawns.

Lets just let the lid sit on this bin until at least the halfway mark,,, get excited on games, but NOT the season....  until we are loaded up in the top 6 teams come rounds 14 or 15.

Until then it is all just blowing warm air over our bits.

Happy he kicked some, but by God he's awful.

As you know I'm very pro Bugg being in the team right now but also very pro the team moving on without him asap. His desire to run and lead creates space with the other forwards and he's willing to pressure. Skills and decision making are a complete mess, all goals are a bonus and his hands look painted on. Keen to see VFL reports on Charlie Spargo, if we're replacing Bugg I don't think it can be with a flighty player like Hannan, think it has to be a player that brings that competitive edge.

Spot on, DS.

I'm a Bugg fan, but I think it's clear now that if we are to replace him it needs to be someone who is willing to do the same things he does, only better.  Hannan isn't the one for that role at the moment, Spargo probably needs a little VFL time to get going and who knows where JKH sits.  Buggy, as you say, provides excellent pressure, he knows how to lead and move to the right spots and he has a knack of hitting the scoreboard, something he did really well today.

It's clear that we play our best footy when we get great pressure from our medium and small forwards, and Bugg is part of that right now, for better or worse.

Just home from the game and really pleased. Not many games I’ve been able to relax like I did today during the last.

All players played their role and it is extremely hard to pick anyone who needs to be dropped.

Gawn, Hogan, Salem, Lewis all terrific, I give Lewis a hard time but his contribution was excellent.

Bloody please for Bugg as I think he’s an important part of the 22.

Special mention to Oscar for his role on Brown, stats aside, he did an amazing job.

Struggle seeing any changes, match ups aside, being made for next week.

Cant recall coming home from the footy as pleased as I am today.

Exactly. North are shizen and we played some dumb footy as well. We were good at the clinches and in the middle but some of our outside work was poor. Ithaught our forward line looked like it had rabies. We definatly need another tall in the forward line wether that be Pedo or weed. Hawthorn will make us look silly if we play like that next week. Were 10 times better last week. On a positive note we got rid of that hoodoo. Hogan, Gawn and Jones were fantastic.

Only issue with that is it's not Norms curse.

The curse was of those, who sacked Norm Smith...   those poll-itically correct cussed's.

They are the bastardo's who brought all this political correct rubbish, and dumped it on this club.

I was sitting next to an old fella today who left school in the early 50’s... my grandfather was a Dees man during this time as well. They were incredibly lucky to see that era.

I sat just behind Ronald Dale and Hassa Man, in the room were Greeny, Hoppy and a few others, after the siren Neita and Trapper dropped in plus plenty of 90s North players in the room too. Great day plus the win.

I love that they are putting Lewis through the middle a little more this year - his impact is his decision making into the forward line. At the minute, he is one of the few that seem to hit a target in there.

We don’t have many passengers but our mid tier players need to do more, especially for those of you with the ‘let’s drop Lewis’ fever dream you have from time to time. He ain’t going anywhere when he has to do so much.

60+ Inside 50s again... Ummm, we really didn’t make the most of the advantage, much like the Geelong game. We still don’t have a discernible structure and that is to be expected with our CHF out. It just frustrates me when I see Hogan running into THE spot ‘competing’ in the air with his teammates from all directions...

It seems to me we are experimenting with our structures, to find what suits us the best at this stage,,, so let just enjoy the differences/changes, and see watt comes of them.

We are becoming a more mobile side with run, so far.  So the entries into the forwardline are also imo experimenting,,, until we get other players back available.

Depends who replaces him. He's definitely no star, a good ordinary player, but he's a good 16th-22nd player. The coaches would love his defensive work especially across half forward. He has to kick like today though, missing set shots from 30m out is inexcusable.

I'd prefer him to Hannan at this stage though, Hannan has better attributes but needs to work out how not to fade in and out of games.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
