Well for me personally today started horribly, my mum passed away. Let hope the Dees do the right that thing and win in her memory. Nice memory just Monday gone I told her that the Dees were on the top of the ladder and she said “what” the surprise on her face was priceless. Even with her memory loss she still new who the Dees were. Never mind she forgot who the hell I was ha ha Go Dees.38 points

Thanks to all demonlanders for your well wishes today. The boys definitely did it for my mom tonight and I am very grateful. Well done boys. What a win and great noise from the small crowd. GI DEES.30 points

20 points down at half time flattered us. 22 points down at full time flattened them29 points

What a bloody fantastic win. Gone for all money at half time and just worked them over in the second half. Best win in a long time.27 points

Tom McDonald's conduct after receiving that elbow to the jaw from Dane Zorko was exemplary. He pushed back and Zorko staged a fall. Macca then leaned over the prostate Zorko and told him the time of day. Effen AWESOME. After that the umpire awarded Macca the free kick and reported Zorko. MACCA...UNCOMPROMISING...TOUGH...ALL CLASS. Well done Tom McDonald!21 points

Listen up Dees fans. There will be ups and downs, but don’t EVER write this team off. We are a very good football team. Nobody wants us to win. Commentators and journalists want to maintain the narrative about our football club - soft, shaky, lazy. But we aren’t any of those things. We are hard and fast. Stick fat, stick together, and never ever doubt this current group. Go Dees.20 points

If you're having a crack at the forward line you don't get it. We're scoring from 50% of our inside 50s, which is a better conversion rate than the Lions. This is on the midfield. We're -11 in CPs, -8 in clearances, -3 in tackles (despite being -43 in disposals), and -14 inside 50s. No side in the comp will compete with Brisbane if the ball is spending the majority of time in Brisbane's forward half.20 points

I'm speechless.. To the point of tears..this is what it's like to support a genuine top team of the competition. Simon Goodwin you are the man. The boys run through walls for you and you deserve every ounce of credit coming your way. Went through a family separation and all the talk was he was next on the chopping block. Kudos Mr Goodwin.16 points

It's going to be wet. It is going to be cold. Our seats won't be fully under cover and Giants Stadium gets it's own little wind swirl because of the open end. It'll be great. I'm a bit excited. The last time I was able to attend a Demon's game in person was 2016. Paul Roos was coach, and Jack Watts had a great game even though his shoe kept falling off. More than half the 22 out there tonight are 'new' since then. Also a bonus that I'm now part of a fully vaccinated household so won't be quite so disturbed by the shoulder-to-shoulder seating.15 points

How good is it that our first and second rounders from the 2017-2019 drafts are all playing this match! 2017: Spargo, Fritsch and Petty 2018: Sparrow and Jordon 2019: Jackson, Koz and Rivers That's a serious strike rate from JT!15 points

That was enormous. We’ve just beaten the two best sides, neither match at our home ground. We held a high scoring side to 20 scoring shots and 75 points. We needed a lift at half time, so we lifted. We backed our system in, we turned the tide, and then we scored heavily. You cannot be anything other than impressed by that.14 points

Melbourne is the real deal. Brisbane are proven as a good team over a few seasons. Tough, well coached, but can be off their game, though more in the early games of the year. They play a straight forward game, of finding a corridor to goal by switching, breaking the lines or creating turnovers and scoring on the counter. They are not a tempo team, they keep the pressure on for the four quarters and kind of wear the defence down. We will make it difficult for their switching game, our behind the ball play is exceptional. Being competitive at the contest should reduce the easy outs, but we can't give them turnovers. This is a team that will hurt us if we aren't clean with the ball. Hoping we step up our skills to the next level. It will be interesting to see how much Gawny is used to cover the Lions talls. Cans Weids get some space and give a consistent performance? Will Brisbane have an answer to the way we intercept? Would love to see us move the ball extremely fast down the field, or at least use some angles to find a free corridor. Our forward-line needs to be switched on as the Lions are a high scoring team, and it shouldn't be up to our defensive structure to keep the game in hand. Another Friday game, sponsors will be happy as well as the footy public watching the top teams, going at each other, again. Go Dees.14 points

I loved seeing Tmac gleefully giving him a gobful, then offering the arm to help him up. Fierce competitor and true sportsman. Class act.13 points

By God there were a hell of a lot of people wanting him gone. And yet the same people cried out for a smart footballer with a neat kick. Well done Charlie!13 points

Spargo seriously I have no idea what you did in the pre season but you have turned into a very very good player13 points

Love seeing the boys go over to the crowd to enjoy it with them. I know that often happens, but seeing that small but loud as f cluster going nuts was just awesome. So proud of this footy club right now. ❤️?13 points

Not underestimating the Lions whatsoever as they're clearly in the best three sides in the comp and have an impressive 7 game winning streak. However since their poor loss to the Dogs in round 4 in Ballarat, they've only left the state once and that was in round 6. I'm hoping a match interstate will upset their momentum and routine and we can benefit from it. They've played about 23 of their last 28 games in QLD.13 points

Tom McDonald remembered at halftime that 18&21 Tom has a lot more fun than 19&20 Tom. He is just bloody immense. I didn’t see this resurgence of his coming.12 points

Best win of the year for mine. To steamroll them like that in the second half. Incredibly impressive. That’s the win that gets the last doubters on board. If you don’t believe now you never will.12 points

So surreal. I've been waiting 52yrs for the Demons to be this forken good.11 points

Spargo doesn’t waste a kick. He doesn’t do the “traditional” small forward magic, but if he gets the ball, it goes to a teammate every time. I’ve come around.11 points

this story has been around and repeated a few times since methinks this might be a bit of blue sky dreaming from mcnamee no doubt he dreamed it up while at wimbledon11 points

I'll write more later, but wow. We are watching a proper football team. I did not see that coming. Now I'm convinced. We're the real deal. GO YOU MIGHTY REDLEGS!!!!!!10 points

It would be nice if we could wait a day before we start bagging the usual suspects. They were part of a great win, give them a break just for the night. Please.10 points

That tackle on Koz as he was running into the forward line with a minute to go. The ball was way in front of him. So bloody obvious and no free. So much scragging of our players. no HTB calls at all against the Lions that I can recall. Yes we don't deserve to be in front but the umpiring is eye watering.10 points

Sorry to all of you doing it tough in lockdown from this horrid disease but I guess the alternative is even worse. let’s hope it works and ends soon! I’m Sitting at work in my office in Sydney CBD trying to be a mature 60 year old manager - inside churning and jumping around like a kid about to go on his first date. Biggest game I’ll have been to since our last Grand final.10 points

Really glad that Harmes is back playing good footy in the guts. Nullifying dangerous opponents, while breaking lines through the centre square and providing some great drive of his own. There were a good number of people who were writing him off as an ordanary player who no longer had a place in the side. Clearly an asset the way he's playing at the moment.9 points

Great fight back tonight. Midfield was getting dominated up to half time (Petracca aside). They really switched on on the second half and won the contest. Our leaders all stood up and got us back tonight. For years we’ve had the talent but lacked the leadership. Now we’ve finally got leadership after years of searching and look at the difference!9 points

Went into last week thinking I'll be happy if we go 1-1 over the next two weeks. I always felt Brisbane were the bigger test. Just hoping for a cracking game tonight. Either team by under 2 goals.8 points
