Trac’s 2024 Season Over

Recommended Posts

According to SEN it's four ribs, lacerated spleen and a hole in the lung. That's a long stay on the sidelines.

We've got the bye which will help, but the spleen and lung will likely heal in that time, and the ribs are going to be painful, but not impossible to play with.
He might miss the Nth game, but equally wouldn't be surprised to see him named either.

Take a look at the incident carefully and I don't think there is much doubt that Moore deliberately put his knee "hard" into tracs back.

Obviously learnt that from that [censored] Mason Cox.

He certainly flexed his knee forward unnecessarily as he jumped from behind, no duty of care at all. It’s a wonder it doesn’t happen more often.

Are you a doctor?  3-12 week recovery according to this site.
https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/17953-ruptured-spleen

Also life threatening.  He should not have been sent back on if the doctor saw the incident on TV as it was right into the spleen/kidney area.

We had 2 years when Burgo was at the club where this stuff didn’t happen (injured players being sent back on).  But it was a regular occurrence pre 2020 and post 2021.

Another “football act” by The Filth. Putting a player in hospital.

Get well. Soon Tracc.

Nope, but you don't appear to be either with your internet diagnosis.

A lacerated spleen <> ruptured spleen! So, before you go all dougie howser on my comment, he's in hospital, they will make the call with our medical staff and bring him back when he's ready. I'm not saying he will play, and I still won't be surprised if he does, but tell me where I said we should risk him or his health?

Also I call bollocks on your last comment. Burgo would have NOTHING to do with assessing player injuries in a game. He was high performance manager, and fitness, not the doctor! so pull your head in before attacking other people!

EDIT: I also didn't make any reference to whether he should have played on, he obviously shouldn't have.

I believe this happened in central Victoria last year in a juniors comp. The kid received a hard tackle, went off, went back on and collapsed, went unresponsive and died. This could of been a lot worse. Hope Trac gets and feels better soon 🙏

Every decent defender should be making their opponent feel it in a marking contest, it's exactly the same thing Maysie does whenever he gets the chance, and rightly so. It's just really unfortunate that Moore's knee caught Trac in the worst possible spot.

How the hell did he get back on the field.  Crazy.

Could be out for the remainder of the H&A?

Lets hope there's no complications.

All the best son ✌🏼

I feel for Trac, the lacerated spleen is a concern and more like a car crash injury and he would have been in some serious pain and I cannot believe he actually went back out to play. I would be surprised if it wasn't season-ending.

And before you jump on me, I have years of experience working in a trauma setting. Without knowing the medical notes all I can say is the spleen is tricky and a serious injury. It contains lots of blood and its healing time varies and it is slow to repair.

From a reputable medical journal "Avoid strenuous activities that could re-injure your spleen. These include lifting, jogging, aerobic exercise, and contact sports. Get plenty of rest for 2-3 months."

Let him rest and fully recover and time to blood some kids.

Are you a doctor? If not, you’re not qualified to make this comment. Players go back on with rib pain regularly from my experience.

And Burgo isn’t and wasn’t a doctor.

Regardless of all that, hopefully Trac is OK and recovers well. In the meantime, for any game he misses, we get a good opportunity to try someone new, but we’re also [censored].

The comp thinks we are soft targets

We play too nice. No mongrel. Think May's ribs, tracc, Brayshaw, May's cheek from Hawkins.

Thats the season done. Rest up and recover Trac.  Your health is the priority. Time to perfect more recipes apart from just meatballs.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
