  1. Interesting that most of the signatures are in pencil, very different times. 1956 is my birth year so it means just that bit more and is in pride of place in the lounge just above the TV. I often look up at it if I am watching a live Dee’s game. These posters are not meant to last 64 years and the signatures like me are slowly fading. The poster will go to the club after I kick off. Great that you have a 1964 poster as well, I have thought off and on about buying a reproduction one that occasionally come up for sale. I was at the game in 64. I hope the players are coping with their nerves better that me while preparing for Saturday week. Cheers, Go Dee’s 🔴🔵
  2. Very fortunate to have been given this original poster bought at auction and is signed by Norm Smith, Ron Barassi and others from the 1957 team. Hopefully a 2021 poster to join it soon. 🤞
  3. I was 8 years old and the youngest of 3. All the family are Melbourne supporters and everyone was at the game in 64. I can remember Ray Gabelich running into the open goal with minutes to go as my sister and grand father and l were sitting behind the goals in the old Southern Stand. Mum and my brother were sitting in the MCC area. Tears of disappointment turned to tears of joy when Neil Crompton kicked the winning goal with seconds to go. We are all waiting for our next flag. Mum is frail 95. So please hurry up MFC 😃 1964 was a great year for my family as we went to see the Beatles live at Festival Hall as well as a Melbourne Premiership that year. Great memories of special moments so long ago.
  4. That really was a WIN FOR THE AGES!!! OMG.
  5. Mr Cochrane. Your team is currently 14th on the AFL ladder. My advice, sort out your own “Hopeless situation” before throwing stones.
  6. She will be looking forward to the bye… Wow what a win! Shout out to the Coaching team for creating a winning culture and getting the best out of our players. Keep believing MFC all.
  7. If it’s the decision of the NT Government not to allow the game to be played Friday night in the “Alice” do we get our $700K? If we played there, most likely there would be no crowd permitted to attend. If they agreed to a fly in fly out game in Alice Springs would we be contractually obligated to do it? Sydney is the most likely outcome. Get there local Dee’s Supporters.
  8. No problem. My thoughts re: Doggies Game is, getting well past this lockdown. Danners deserves a a Big, BF7!
  9. If this game is moved interstate or played with no crowds. Postpone the “Big Freeze at the G” to a Saturday night, for our Home Game V the Doggies?
  10. At seasons end, I hope the players with few exceptions get a swift kick in the Annus horribillis.
  11. I would be happier if the news was about the imminent re-signing of Frost tbh.
  12. Melbourne has the worst forward line in the AFL.
  13. One would hope the club wiIl have Colin grace the “G” in the Red and Blue one last time.....on the big sceen. Round one 2019. Then a minutes silence. RIP Colin Sylvia ?
  14. Will be interested to see what happens with the Big Freeze on QB. Now it’s not our home game. I assume it will still happen. If we play well the club could make some serious coin.
  15. This year bought hope along with it expectation. Mine was, round one versus another 2018 top eight team. We didn’t get it I move on. However I am entitled to give an opinion. Your entitled not to agree with it. Your positivity often helps me balance out my negativity. Cheers.
  16. We will have more night games for sure. I was expecting to play another top eight side. That’s all. I can express an opinion, your entitled not to agree with it. Also I might add that as I am getting older I would prefer day games any day of the week.
  17. Port Adelaide. “Yawn” at least it’s a home game on a Saturday at the G. Thought we would have got repaid better than that for making a Prelim,. Oh well.
  18. Wallace needs to give up the Demon drink ??
  19. Correct. It was stated in the article about the 2019 requests for fixturing and that both clubs were having another crack at getting this game next season.
  20. Talk of Round 1 Pies v Dee’s on Friday night as a blockbuster. Reported in the press a month or two ago.
  21. A straight shooter is PJ. You also mentioned in your previous post about his legacy. One thing that’s would be for certain is that he would not want it to come undone after the tireless work he and Roos et al put into the club. Very much doubt it will, but it’s always on your mind especially when you have just left.
  22. Mayday! That’s what I would be thinking just before the bone crunching hit. He needs to temper his aggression as he got rubbed out for a few of these bumps. We need him on the park not in the stands. That said very happy to have him onboard.
