Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Really hope it's not serious with Lever.

According to Richo it’s just a cautious approach layz, they expect him to be available for Anzac Eve.

With Brown back in , do we think Petty will be down back again?

200% he goes back.

I can’t fathom a forward line of BBB, T Mac, JVR and Petty.

Even without Petty that forward line looks too tall if the heavy rain comes in the arvo. At the moment it’s looking like a very wet second half.

Petty 100% goes back with Lever out. He can play the intercept role and May and Tomlinson will play the shut down role. Lucky for us Essendon are missing their two starting tall forwards.
I would be interested to try Rivers on Stringer. Similar body shape. Rivers definitely has the size and speed to cover him. He can run with him midfield and forward. Could be a decent matchup in the absence of Hibbo.
I think McVee and Bowey are both too slight and Gus doesn’t have the speed.

Rivers for me too. I keep thinking he plays well above his height but then forget he's actually 188cm.

Very pro Petty as a forward, but not silly, with Lever out he is required back, not sure Tomlinson is the right match up for Stringer, Hibbo would have been better. I guess Rivers can have a crack. I’d actually start JJ before Tommo, I think the team is too tall for the conditions as well.

How do we feel about Brown in? Bit surprised to be honest

Equal leading goalkickers so far this year alongside Fritsch with 9 to date.

I know many here have mixed feelings about Brown, but he's been finding the middle of the big sticks this year.

I'd suspect that's exactly why they've timed it as they have many people take the 4 days off this week as well and, so then it's about attracting some of those people to Adelaide for more than just the weekend, to stay longer and spend more tourist dollars.

Yeah fair point. Was thinking today, if I had known about this round earlier in the year, I probably would’ve done just that!

Having heard/read a rumor that Lever may (pardon the pun) not be quite right, I'd be seriously looking at throwing Petty back and BBB as the third/second rotating key forward.

A few reasons for this:

T Mac is back to decient form and providing a the big mussel / contested marking forward up there again now and draws the more established KPB away from JVR.  Lessens the need for Petty up there.

I didn't think Petty made as bigger impact up forward as I'd expected.  He looks a bit lost and out of position at times and if he misses the mark, I think guys like T Mac and BBB actually have a more established sense of how to stay involved and or kick opportunist goals once the ball hits the deck.

Petty playing back is such a valuable asset to us.  His ability to take big contested intercept marks down back and lock down an opponent is really important IMHO, particularly since we don't really have Gawn floating back down there at the moment.

It's not that I think it was a huge mistake to throw Petty forward and give him a go down there, but for me it's run it's course for now and, so I think we should just park it unless the need really arises again.  I actually think Petty would be better used up forward sporadically within games when we might be struggling to take grabs up forward, just to create a mismatch, throw the  break things open a bit for the odd goal here or there if the game is in a bit of a stalemate or we badly need to get our selves back into a game.  Using Steven May in this way would also be worthy of consideration here and there as well.

Spot on RG-especially the sporadic part-at specific times in games to throw the opposition an unexpected curve ball (May/Petty).

Maybe you don't have kids? Maybe you don't read much about the Dees draw in advance ? Maybe you are just not up with the fact that tickets for Gather Round were available about 2/3 mths ago. That rock that you are under sure does a good job or are you a resident of Cooper Pedy perhaps?

Enjoy oh and Dees play on Sat twilight!!

Did you know? There’s studies on the correlative relationship between trolling and what’s called ‘Dark Tetrad’ personality factors (the levels of psychopathic, narcissistic, Machiavellian and sadistic traits a person has). What’s been found is that the levels of these traits a person has, is shown to be positively predictive of whether they’ll engage in trolling or not.

On top of this, levels of loneliness are also another factor that is shown to be positively predictive. The more dark traits and higher levels of loneliness a person has, the more likely they are to troll.

There’s also a social factor to online trolling which is driven by a desire for attention from others. The emotional reward is a sense of power and (saddest of all) feeling successful.

So when someone engages in trolling behaviour, it’s indicative, that they’re most likely somewhere in what the above describes.

Make of this information what you will.

P.S. It’s ‘Coober Pedy’ not ‘Cooper Pedy’.

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.
