Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Club twitter just now...

"The club's running unbelievable at the moment – 4-0, couldn't be in a better place. Probably in recent years, when the other teams have got a run on against us, we've been a little bit negative, but we've matured as a group and we're handling it a lot better."

Outstanding news,   Fan, blooody, tastic  news even, shows Commitment on behalf of the player to the club, I hope his reward the other way was more than adequate .   He will want to stay for longer if we win a Granny this year and/or next.

As much as I have criticised Clarry on this site for various things over the years (e.g. kicking scrubbers, overhead loose handballs, grinning after missing easy goals, etc.) and posted heresay about his text message to Cripps last year, I am sincerely happy that he has signed on.

Clarry is a genuine A grade inside mid and we need players like him to finally win another premiership. Well done to all involved who helped him over the line in the contract negotiations. Go Dees.

That is extremely interesting.

The Yze impact seems under appreciated, Hasn’t been spoken off as much as Williams.

Bringing in Yze and Williams will prove to be THE switch that turned this club around

If we believe this to be the case, then Pert probably needs to take credit for keeping our quality players on the list with the review and changes he drove. Personally, I don't doubt he was looking around (or maybe his mgr was for him) but he would have needed interest from a team that will challenge sooner than MFC to have even considered moving and Carlton was never that team - they do however have salary cap room to help drive his price up which is handy. Anyway, excited to have him on board and love the way he goes about his footy. We have an awesome midfield emerging with maturity

Sorry Bigred but I disagree. No Melb fan would ever under appreciate YZE. One of the smartest payers of the Daniher era, a Clarkson strategist for nearly 10 years and was wanting to come home 2 years ago. Rightfully Clarkson made him stay.

Williams is brilliant in other aspects and a great coaching addition.

But underestimate YZe's imact on the way the team is playing?

- Never. Clarry's signature sosays so too.

Tracc on 360- wrapped about Oliver.

Said difference between now and two years ago is we take feedback heaps better and are more mature, whereas two years ago, we may have said 'get stuffed' to feedback.

Sign of maternity for sure, to be able to take well intentioned feedback.

(And in that spirit, it’s rapt, not wrapped - or wrapt as we sometimes see on this forum. Rapt, as in rapture.)

A massive vote of confidence for Goodwin. No way he signs so early if he does not fully support the coach and the direction we are heading.

About time we all get behind the coach

Fantastic news! How good is this to be a Dees supporter at the moment. Perfect start to the year. Key forwards to come in. Oliver and Hunt committing to new deals. Max doing same pre-season. Jonesy to play his 300th on Anzac Eve when we rip the Tigers a new one!

I just love this Club to death ..... and back again!

Would the love be so ardent if we had lost all 4 games and Oliver decided not to re-sign.

Sorry Old Fart but it is amazing to read the accolades and love after a few wins. They better keep winning.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
