Bernie shouldn’t go for his bump but then NikNat shouldn’t have gone for his tackle so you never know.

No change.

I like what Bull Smith brings to the table...  18 disposals, 9 hitouts, 5 tackles, 2 shots on goal.  Whats the point of bringing in Pedersen who may or may not replicate Smiths numbers/impact?

NO CHANGE

For those saying Garlett in for Spargo. Can they elaborate what Garlett has done in the 2s to get back in. If anyone is coming back in for Spargo it would be Bugg

No changes is my guess but there are three areas for discussion.

1. If Bernie Vince is suspended.. who replaces him.. not sure

2. Does Gawn need more help in the ruck in Alice Spring conditions and are we prepared if necessary to use Tom Mc.... my thought is no change but you can make a case for either Weid or Pedersen replacing Smith who if dropped would be very unlucky. IMO the selectors made the Smtih over Pedersen call this week and they will be happy to roll that dice again.

3. Did Spargo do enough?... not sure but if he is to be rested I would play Bugg before Garlett on VFL form but who knows.

You’d think Jeff comes in for indigenous round. Spargo rested?

Tbh I hope that the round means less than zero to the match commitee.

I wpuld play spargo and rest after alice if needed.

 No changes.

Surely we must go in as favourites against the Crows?

Is the "I'd rest Bernie this week" code for dropping him?

Haha, well kind of. We are traveling so why not rest him and keep him fresh. Showing signs of needing a rest

I kind of agree. I thaught spargo looked a bit tired but he does chase and harass more than Garlett does. It was when Spargo was kicking for goal that I noticed his tiredness.

No one deserves to be droppped but Bernie had a shocker today. Couldn't hit a target with a 15m kick, botched handpasses and did that stupid kick to lewis when he had Salem free. At one stage stage went to chase an opponent and it just looked like he was running up and down on the spot.

Not against Adelaide.

Garlett won't get a game just because it's indigenous round he has to earn it.

There should be a dislike button for comments like that Bugg is a spud.

Garlett was in the best players yesterday. I have analysed what Spargo brings

And yes I like his grunt, and being where it is BUT he has no real speed and IMV Jeffy is still STILL IN MY BEST 22

Spargo has a rest this week and Jeffy comes in!

No change, but I anticipate there'll be 2 or 3 the week after regardless of the result. All of Tyson, Garlett, Hunt, Weid (if fit), Peds and even Frost would be a chance to come back in. We've got a 6 day break coming back from Alice against the doggies.

Tom McDonald, surely. That missed shot on goal at the end of the game was unforgivable !!!!!!

Wouldn’t rest Bernie the week we play the crows, he gets up and about for his old side.

Spargo worked really hard applying pressure disrupting a lot of Carlton possession chains, probably deserved a goal or two for his efforts.

Bull Smith exceeded expectations, settled into the game and gave us a lot around the ground.

No change unless someone really needs the rest.

If there's any contact to the head - and I think there was - then Bernie is done.

Either way it's time he has a rest and/or some time at Casey to sharpen up. He started the year remarkably well but has trailed off recently.

Hunt the obvious replacement and he'll give us a bit more overhead which is needed against the Crows - even without 2 of their usual forwards.

No other changes. I'd be shocked if Smith or Spargo go anywhere, they did exactly what they needed to do. ANB back in better touch the last two weeks. Hannan probably the weakest link in the forwards - a bit too fumbly, slipping off tackles and some poor decisions but he got going in the 2nd half.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
