Frustrating that in all his time off and over the pre-season, Bugg is still a shocking kick for goal.

Good first half, we've been cleaner and it's shown. I actually feel like Brisbane got on top of us with winning the ball and didn't allow us as many clean possessions but they just don't have the finishing skills to make us pay. If we blitz them early in the 3rd quarter than it could be game over and we can cruise home.

Hogan and Garlett have been very good today and Bugg should've made the most of Hogan's hard work.

Brisbane remind me of the first year Roos MFC team. No question of endeavour, just ball slaughter after error after cockup, and suddenly you are miles behind when you haven't even been that bad really.

Wait for the confidence drop to come next. We really, really need to bury them.

Whoever pushed Jetta into that marking contest should be reported, ugly stuff.

True Steve, it was poor.

I must admit that I didn't see you posting when one his kicks hit ANB lace out for a goal.

Swings and roundabouts I guess, eh?

I also haven’t commented on any of the other shocking kicks he’s made so far this game under no pressure.

So obviously I have no care if he hits one or two.

They shouldn't have to learn on game day. They should be learning at training or at Casey. It isn't good enough at this level. Tyson's kicking, turnovers and lack of awareness hurt us as a side too often. Bugg just plain and simply is a sh*t kick.

Tyson wants to go backward at every opportunity. He was out in the middle of the ground and his first instinct was to give a 2 Metre handle back to Jones who wasn't expecting it and we miffed the chance . Horrendous. That said, he is providing more than Maynard. Harmes way off the pace at the moment

Whatever floats your boat, Steve.  Outside of one I can think of, and that turnover, he's been pretty good.

Bugg and Tyson need to learn how to kick

Tyson hit someone (ANB I think) lace out off two steps from the boundary line which resulted in a goal. How much better do you want him to get?

The suspense is killing me: who was your uncle?

Bugg's goal kicking is 100% mental.

And all of us ...wherever we are ... hoping for a win .... I know I am ?

As Clint mentioned Wagner, Bugg (both of whom I don't rate) & Harmes clear bottom three. Hunt quiet but has credits with me as I'm a huge fan. The rest have been good. Hopefully two consistent quarters to come.

Couldn’t agree more. I love what Bugg brings and Tyson can be brilliant too but thier kicking will preven then from ever being exceptional

Funny, I am starting to warm to Wagner, yep the odd error, but I think he's getting a few consecutive games to get his head around it. Bugg  presents really well and hassles (and I can forgive that miss, because every other player has also missed that kick) and Harmess, well, he can take a mark, I don't think he has too much of an ego, and is better than 'serviceable'... theyll come on in the second half (but then I guess they're just down hill skiiers)?? Agreed, let's hope the consistency comes for the second half.

If Wiseblood and Saty think you're right, yer right.

Plus he's been good, MFC confirmation bias in full swing.

You bought up a pile of cheats, not me

i have no time for cheating, my comments on the Essendrug disgrace were always rock solid.

Let’s see how the Premiership Quarter stacks up

jobs not even close to being finished yet

See you have moved from Oscar last year to Tyson this year.. lol..

First game for this year and Tyson has been quite handy. Showing why he showed have been in the side last week instead of Maynard. You'll get the odd error from him, like Jones, like Viney, and like Petracca.. but he has a touch of class about him too which when on song, can be quite a dominant midfielder.

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
