Trade rumours

I sit half a world away from the Melbourne Football Club but regularly exchange emails with a mate of mine that is much closer to the club. The latest mail says that Hogan is no chance to leave the club at this stage or in the foreseeable future. Watts is a different story. Discussion on a possible trade will only be entertained if we get value for him. Currently, MFC would prefer to keep him on the list and see how he responds.

MFC will look to get in Lever plus a 23-25yo mid to build the list for a real tilt at the flag over the next 4-5 years.

Take this in any way you wish and keep in mind this is a trade rumours board and that is exactly what this is, a rumour.

I have heard very similar things about Watts for the majority of the second half of this season.

My source is third hand so have not posted previously. However putting it together with what you have heard makes me think there's something in it.

Don't stress yourself with pay. None of us know our tpp or where we're at with the Salary cap. You'd be better off guessing the Tatts numbers for saturday

Sorry, should have been clearer. I didn't mean pay as in salary, I meant pay as in cost: draft picks, players etc. Getting Lever is going to clean out the cupboard, so what'll be left for a decent mid ... unless we can offload a player or two who might get us back in the game.

I didn't mind Hartlett a few seasons back, haven't seen much of Port lately, would he fit?

Haven't we had interest in Hartlett in the past?

Port have entertained moving him in the past, wonder if he's in play.

Can we please go after Aaron Hall. The quick and smooth operator our midfield is missing. He's 26

He turns to water with any kind of pressure. Couldn't imagine we'd trade Watts only to get Hall.

Suns would probably need a pick from Port as well.  Hartlett is the odd man out in this deal by a mile.  We might also need to throw in a later pick.  Maybe both us and Port throwing second round picks to the Suns?

Just yuck, mate. Hope not.

I'd trade Jack Watts, but only if it landed/helped land a B+/A grade mid in that 23-25 age bracket.

No, way overs. we have to stay tough in negotiations.

We are trying to improve, but you don't improve much, when you receive goods with one hand while paying with the other; & the seller has their hand in your back pocket at the same time.

Time for this club to grow up & play hardball. No more pushovers.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
