Trade rumours

I sit half a world away from the Melbourne Football Club but regularly exchange emails with a mate of mine that is much closer to the club. The latest mail says that Hogan is no chance to leave the club at this stage or in the foreseeable future. Watts is a different story. Discussion on a possible trade will only be entertained if we get value for him. Currently, MFC would prefer to keep him on the list and see how he responds.

MFC will look to get in Lever plus a 23-25yo mid to build the list for a real tilt at the flag over the next 4-5 years.

Take this in any way you wish and keep in mind this is a trade rumours board and that is exactly what this is, a rumour.

Thank you for bringing some sanity back to this thread....

Wonder where a 23-25 y.o. mid could come from, especially as we're going to have to pay an arm and a leg for Lever.

Don't stress yourself with pay. None of us know our tpp or where we're at with the Salary cap. You'd be better off guessing the Tatts numbers for saturday

The mid is very interesting. GC comes to mind but i have no idea who we'd be looking at

Another quick point on caps - there is an ASA cap and a Salary cap - Whos to say how much of Lever's salary is which or where we are at with this.

Speculating about TPP right now in our cycle is pointless. When we have a bevy of stars and can't afford to keep Hunt type players you'll know we have a problem.

He was right behind Cale Morton in a draft, from memory.

Ok a review of my past trade post

if hogan wants to go back then:

hogan and Kent , second round pick to dockers.

we get Neale , Logue and first round.

Use that first round and our one to get lever.

much prefer Neale to gaff.

use a third or 4th round to get Ac chee from port.

Tell the pies to go get funked.

Watts is criminally undervalued by some on this sites. Trade him to upgrade from 10 to 6??? Are you serious!?

Undervalued ???  How many of his 150 plus games have you watched?

Ah, where was this post Dirts? I didn't see it ?

Also I wouldn't give two 1st's, for Lever, one 1st & a player, is plenty.

Why on Earth would we trade Watts for a minor pick upgrade?  I'd give them a fringe player for that sort of deal, but not our best ball-user.  They can have JKH or Stretch for a four pick upgrade.

Well it would seem that we may end up doing that rumored deal with the pies.

Pick 10 and Watts for their pick 6. Then on trade pick 6 and a shuffle of later picks to the crows for Lever.

If that's what has to happen, then so be it .. But I shudder at the thought of seeing Watts in black and white.

2024 Player Reviews: #35 Harry Petty

Failed to fulfill the promise of his breakout six goal effort against the Tigers in 2023 and was generally disappointing as a key forward. It remains to be seen whether Simon Goodwin will persevere with him in attack or return him to the backline where he was an important cog in the club’s 2021 premiership success. 2024 Player Reviews: #22 Blake Howes

After a bright start to the season, playing mostly in defence, Howes seemed to lose his way in midseason but fought back with some good performances at Casey and finished the year back at AFL level. 2024 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Originally an NBL basketballer with the Brisbane Bullets, he moved across town in 2019 to the AFL Lions where he played 19 games before crossing to Melbourne where he was expected to fill a role as a back up ruckman/key forward. Unfortunately, didn’t quite get there although he did finish equal sixth in Casey’s best and fairest award. Date of Birth: 23 February 1999 Height: 198cm Games CDFC: 14 Goals CDFL: 13

2024 Player Reviews: #10 Angus Brayshaw

Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final. His loss to the club was inestimable over and above his on field talent given his character and leadership qualities, all of which have been sorely missed. The son of former Demon Brownlow Medalist Shane, Taj added a further 16 games to his overall tally of games but a number were as substitute. He is slowly fitting into the team structure but without doing anything spectacular and needs to take further steps forward in 2025 for his career to progress. SLIP SLIDING AWAY by Meggs

It was a sweaty, slippery night at Cazalys Stadium, a tough slog with low scoring and missed opportunities.  The Hokball Hawks hung on to win by a goal and sit second on the ladder, relegating the disappointed Demons to, almost certainly, finals spectators.   We had to win this match. When news broke of late withdrawals of talisman Kate Hore and key back Gaby Colvin, expectations plummeted, and Demon fans despaired.  The bad news was the signature song of 2024, a season that’s
