Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I don't know how we change this. The boys are playing great footy, we had just come off memorable win against the Pies, only game in town. Seriously the fans who could've gone but chose not to need the same rocket up their butts that Pederson got (it's clearly worked for him).

I went, but in a corporate box dead in the middle of the ground. Heaps of Melbourne in front of us and they made a lot of noise. I still will not pay to get into the ground or spend a penny there.  Massive rip-off merchants. Is it me or are our supporters more active (aggressive) in their supporting the team these days? Looks/sounds like it to me.

Garlett should have had another bag of 5 today.  Lock him in for his first 50 goal season.  Can't believe his turnaround in form this year.

Just wait till he feeds off a F.F. Today on occasions as we "bombed" the ball into the forward line he was up against two or three bulldogs with no support. Once our forward line is settled again he will get the bags of goals.

Well said, plenty of noise coming from us today. Nothing wrong with the crowd,  historically these two teams don't draw well anywhere.

Certainly was.  In the midst of it and we were LOUD.  And we started singing at the 19 minute mark of the last qtr ?

Up by 50 points at three quarter time against the reigning premiers on their home turf.

Effectively rested two of our most important players for the final quarter as a precautionary measure for next week, and still won the quarter.

That confirms 'never in doubt'.

I love Tom Bugg.

What an amazing 4 quarter effort. Defensively we were phenomenal. And offensively we smashed them.

Tom McDonald was amazing in the ruck, and the backline was faultless. Best 12 possession game you'll ever see from Jetta. If he's not in All Australian contention the competition is a joke.

Hard to fault anyone today but I would like Bugg and Harmes to learn to kick set shots!

P.S.- after pulling out last minute from attending the North game, today was another one for the perfect winning record when the boyfriend turns up to watch us play...now to work out a way to drag him along to every game...

Time to put the foot down Jaded

Brilliant performance from start to finish. Even when we lost our way a little in the second quarter, we didn't allow the Dogs to pile on multiple goals. It was really important to back up Monday's win with a good showing as well.

This is precisely why I have been so frustrated with this group - they are so very capable, but until yesterday we hadn't seen them play properly for four quarters. Now that they have, and against decent opposition, hopefully they will have the belief and the desire to do it again and again.

Special mention to both McDonalds who were brilliant throughout. Tom seems to be loving the freedom of playing up the ground, and his versatility will be important as the season goes on. Oscar played his best game and continued his good form from last week.

Hopefully Jones & Watts will be okay for Saturday. With Gawn back, it would be great not to lose any players, particularly not some of our best.

The Age Rnd 12 votes:

  • Oscar McDonald (Melbourne) 8
  • Tom McDonald (Melbourne) 8
  • Jack Watts (Melbourne) 8
  • Christian Salem (Melbourne) 7
  • Jeff Garlett (Melbourne) 7

So proud of our team, especially those that have had to wear so much criticism or setbacks and able to rise above it and perform as they have recently!.

Takes real grit to do that.  Well done guys

I was there, making noise, there was a smattering of Melbourne fans around the ground, can't expect too much Dogs home game at Etihad was to be expected. Great win.

This is my favourite line written in the media about the game:

"The Demons hunted and stalked their prey with the hunger and cheek of a pack of starved hyenas for a full 120 minutes".

This was the best team effort I have seen by Melbourne since 2006. A special thank you to Glenn Barlett, Peter Jackson, Paul Roos, Simon Goodwin,  and Macca for turning this club around and we now have a very competitive team. Macca is a great man as couple years he was speaking at the premium members lunch where I , and next week he saw me crossing the road from Richmond station and waited for me and then walked to mcg with me. Saty is right about how Macca is involved in the development of Oscar.  We are very lucky to have one of the best development coaches working with us. It is great to see us bullying the opposition and I am very excited about how far this team can develop.  CARN THE DEMONS.

There were small pockets of MFC supporters. Even the cheer squad area was not full and the area to each side of it was empty. The sound when Melbourne scored or when they came onto the field was soft. The numbers were greater and sound of the supporters for the puppies was very loud. The whole crowd was only 33,000. My estimate is that at least two thirds were puppies supporters, probably more.

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned (can't read pages and pages on this topic) but 3 wins at the Docklands Mausoleum this year puts the old bogey to bed I think!

Besides the usually discussed problems with Docklands the ticketing is a real  dogs breakfast.

No real info readily available about GA areas and in the main those areas which are available are less than optimum from a viewing aspect.

Level 2 is wasted when the lesser teams play.

Went to the Docklands for the Essendon game and other than the win the viewing aspect was lousy (until the Bombers supporters left and I pinched a seat.) The crowd was big because of the Bombers membership and the tendency of their members to pre purchase seats.

I suspect that Melbourne supporters are not given to pre-purchasing tickets and seats during the home and away season.

Perhaps some rethinking about seat allocation for the lesser games is in order

I've revised my stance marginally on Etihad...if someone ante's up I'l sit in the Medallion Club on the wing... that was ok.  I did notice at eh Ess game there wasnt a huge Melb crowd in front of me...ie..the more Eastern side ( spencer st )  There were quite a few around me.

It's not our favourite place historically. I suspect given our recent win/loss there folk might warm to it a bit. It will take years though..and I still need to find more people willing to shout !!

It's the AFL's fault IMO. Round 1 Telstra were offering seats in the pockets level 1 for $20, yesterday these areas were empty because they were around $50 which is ridiculous. Heaps of empty seats in the AFL members part where I was too, all that needed to be done was offer these unbought seats to the public for a decent price and more people would have turned up.

I think we can put most bogeys to bed now. Goody is dismissive of them. We are a new team and will beat our foes on any given day anywhere.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
