MFC site: "Simon Goodwin confirmed the big man would make his comeback for Casey against Collingwood at Casey Fields on Saturday."

Is it feasible for Spencil to play the first quarter, or first half on Saturday and then back up two days later? Just askin'

Like what? Being a pest and missing easy shots at goal. At least give a guy who's had a brilliant VFL game another shot.

Lazy cliche about Bugg... he aint no Ballentyne.

Salem in for Wagner it seems then.

Club playing mind games naming Spencer! Interesting!

Let's hope JKH is just an emergency and doesn't play as he offers nothing at AFL level.

I'll ignore it because his afl games have been totally sub standard.

He won't play. He'll be an emergency. They're just giving him a medal for dominating in the lower grade. (I hope)

47 touches against Coburg. Bugg offers more at AFL level than JKH.

Pretty sure in Bugg's last game at Casey he kicked 5 goals and got 30+ possessions.

Would take him ahead of JFK...but good on the kid for getting leather poisoning. Wish Kent would do the same.

Maybe Goodwin said that before they realized Watts might not come up?

Fasolo has also put his hand up for selection. Good to hear he is feeling mentally a bit better

I feel with so many injuries that there might just be a little pressure put on him to play. Hope that he is OK with that decision.

In: J.Spencer, J.Kennedy-Harris, C.Salem

Thought Spencil was not going to be in - and glad that JKH gets another run (hasn't shown anything at AFL level, but I seem to have a spot for him in the cockle of my heart)...

JKH instead of Stretch and Ben Ken WTF!

True, but he is getting in position to score so thats a good sign.  Hes had around 10 scoring shots the last two weeks  (seven behinds and a few that fell short.)

Would love him to slot a few vs the Filth, their supporters will wanna kill him cos hes just so annoying.

Whilst I am somewhat surprised at JKH selection,47 possessions in a tight game is quite exceptional and shows the kid definitely has something.Yes, would like to see him do it a few weeks on the trot, however, he will be brimming with confidence and a lot better placed when he came in earlier in the season. Actually saw him live at the Williams town game and he was less than ordinary. Staggeringly he was selected in the seniors the next week and played accordingly. If he makes the cut on Monday let's hope he can surprise us all and make his mark in a big game.

1) Collingwood always said that Fasolo would miss last week and be a chance for for Queens Birthday.

2) the last time we had a player roll an ankle at training was Garlett last year, and he missed 2 matches. Watts is far from a certainty.

3) interesting they rushed Salem straight back in to the starting 18after some disgraceful and unacceptable  undiscipline vs North. I don't blame Wagner for  sooking it up at training(if true) if he's the unlucky guy to make way for someone that let the team down so badly.

Just someone around here reporting that Wagner appeared down in the dumps at the end of training today as he's probably made way for Salem.

Ironic as Wagner finally got his kicking right in the second half Vs Gc and it was clearly his best game of the season so far.

Salem is a best 22 player, fact. Lewis let the team down as well, should he have gone through the VFL?

Sucks for Wagner if he is the one to make way, but Salem has played some good footy this year and we should be encouraging him to make amends out on the footy field.

Don't know what to make of Spencer's inclusion. Can only imagine it's a back up in case Watts doesn't get up. I don't like the idea of Watts part-time rucking with a dodgy ankle.

I think Omac, Melky, Harmes and JKH will be the final bench.

With our lack of talls in the forward line, we'll need a good mix of zip and hardness down there to score goals so Harmes and Hannan will rotate and JKH will work the Pies defenders over with Jeffy and ANB.

If Watts doesn't pull up then Spencer will surely be a late inclusion even if Goodwin says he'll play in the Magoos. That will leave Petracca and Pedders as our only two power forwards.

Looking like there's a bit to play out in selection over the next coupla days.

I thought the players were on notice after the raft of suspensions after round 2.

To be honest I expected way better from Salem. Seemed like a real level headed kid both on the field and off it.

I'm expecting a great performance from Salem like I did from Lewis in his return game vs Essendon, which he duly delivered.

Anyone else tempted to attend the open training session tomorrow? Most likely will head down as all of a sudden we as a club have the opportunity to seize the moment, stand up and be counted , show the AFL world we are not just improvers and on the cusp, we are no longer waiting for teams to fall, we look at each other in the eyes and begin the climb as one. It's time this club made us BELIEVERS, not supporters of hope.

Spencil has been named because of Watts. If watts is out they will have to play out of their skins to win. Gawn, Hogan and Watts out is a huge blow and we would be much worse off than the pies with injuries,

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
