Watts plays his best forward as a high half forward with space. He is not a KPP FF and wasn't recruited as one. Having to play deep forward is limiting his creativity and he has to play on the best or 2nd best defender. Look at his stats for the first part of the season - he was averaging 18-20 disposals per game, more marks etc as he was playing up the ground. He'll be fine when Hogan and Gawn is back. That'll mean Hogan, Pedo, Watts as forwards and Watts can emulate his early 2016 form again.

Definitely had a poor game today, but our structure is killing us which is limiting players such as him.

He's a poor kick for goal, can't mark overhead, is not interested in chasing and wouldn't land a tackle unless someone ran straight into his arms.

Now these are my observations of his career to date.

Today, in the last Q you can also add...not interested in the hard ball. When the game was there to be won he had an opportunity to attack the footy that was in front of him. Instead of attacking the ball he put one arm out and tried to play clever, the North player ran straight through the line of the ball as you should do and cleared it easily.

 

 

Exactly I pointed this out elsewhere he backed out of that contest and the ball went sailing past him. For all the vitriol JKH got Kent has not been any better. Give me ANB, Harmes or Stretch any day of the week

Weed, Kent and Bugg have to go. Wouldn't be sad to see OMac at Casey also - very dumb footballer. Maybe to time for a left field selection like Huelett or Keilty. Melksham is a certainty but I hope they play him on a wing and not down back.

Probably a fair call. Just wish he would win a marking contest one on one in the forward line. He needs more breakout games. I suppose the rucking hasn't helped him kick goals

Go through our losses when Kent plays and he is always near the bottom of the stats. That for me is a clear sign he cannot be relied upon when we are playing poorly. This of course added to what my own eyes tell me.

I've always liked Kent and wanted him back in the side the last time we dropped him.

But efforts like today's are inexcusable and should not be tolerated. Must be dropped. Bring back one of Harmes or ANB.

Wagner's giving us little off half-back. He's not giving us a huge amount of run and his kicking hasn't been great either. If Melksham's in form at Casey I'd make that swap too.

Weideman ought to be dropped and developed at Casey but we can't afford it as we don't have any talls on the list ready to come back in. Even if we could bring a tall defender in, to free up TMac to play forward, that would be preferable to playing Weideman in his current form but we don't have a choice and so he stays.

When Gawn and Hogan return, and we can play a forward line of Hogan, Watts and Pedersen, with Gawn the ruckman and Pedersen providing the relief, that will be a far stronger set up. It will likely come too late to save the season, though.

His disposal is usually great but how often does he take the game by the scruff like Reiwoldt?  He just seems so average of late and he is one of our most experienced players with 150 games. Look at Hannon for goodness sake he kicked 3 to jacks zilch. Where is this guys passion?

But for sure Weid.......should not have been in all year. Even if he got 20 touches a game he just does not kick any goals

I'll say it again, I knew Watts and the MFC would have a shocker when we saw Jack awkwardly playing [censored] ping pong with Sam bloody Newman on the steaming turd known as the Footy Show on Thursday night!
