we genuinely ran out of legs. Poor disposal and decision making was due to fatigue a number of times. Notice how many players were falling as they hand balled?

With fatigue, our concentration really dropped while Richmond were able to keep composure.

this is not a pure excuse for losing. But I think it played a really large factor.

Plus just dominating the ruck that last quarter from Richmond.

I was really proud of our team tonight regardless.

Yeah well ran out of puff and fit players. However decision making and disposal by hand and foot was terrible in second half. We gave up the ball time and time again. Backwards, sideways, every way but forward. Great pressure from the tigers but we gave up the ball every time.   So disappointing.

Thats what happens when you are extremely fatigued from no rotations.

Selection night isnt helping us.

Kent would have been perfectly suited to tonights game. Run, hardness and speed.

Pedo brings physicality to the contest and wouldve freed up hogan from all those 1 v 3 marking contests.

yet again melkshams decison making and skill is letting us down big time. Yes he has the tank to get to contests but thats no good if he then grubbers it to an opposition player. I want in a casey jumper ASAP

Goodwins judgement is concerning me slightly at this early stage

The FD picked the wrong team

Goody failed to adjust

Most players held heads high

That was winnable.

We didn't

We f'd up

Still think there are so many more positives than negatives. The results will turn if we keep dominating games like that

We lost it at the selection table. We needed experience and composure and instead we have JKH.

The only one at Casey with that is Trengove...

There was a goal in the last where it was clear that it was going to go straight out the back to Cotchin. It showed Jones with his back to the ruck contest. All he needed to do was turn around and tell someone to pick him up. It was shocking.

oh Jones over your 11 year career, you have been an outstanding player and perhaps within a better team, a genuine 'considered' super star amongst the media, can you please never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever [censored] up, as you are human.

I'm as gutted as any of you but some of you are a disgrace!

2 men down for more than a half of footy on a wet night and you can't excuse them for running out of steam!

The whole structure was shot when Spencer went down.

Have a crack at the selection committee and fair enough too, but the players could not have given any more tonight!

Season over my arse, pull your heads in!

I remember that one - I used it to show positioning at stoppages to my girl who hasn't had as much exposure to football tactics as most.

It was satisfying to say 'watch that guy there' and see it happen, wish it went the other way though.

Gutted for Jake.  Spends the whole year last year giving the VFL side a ride waiting for his go, hardly gets so much as a scratch.  Finally gets his chance, second week in, injured.  There is no justice sometimes.

Look, I agree. But to be harsh on him, he put himself in that position by diving at the ball with that hip and shoulder to the Tiger player. If that is how he initially got injured. He's a ruckman, he does not need to dive in. We are an aggressive team, but that is just reckless given his limitations. I stand corrected if he got injured later on in the game after he came back on, but that is what I saw.

Why do we always have more that go up than stay down? I see it time and time again. Too many go up and don't win the ball, or at least kill the contest, then their numbers get the ball out the back. It's just stupid football.

Our player's are as dumb as batsh!t and our coaches are even worse for not realising this and corrected for it.

That's been happening all year DD. Disorganised. Especially down back under heat. The only time we played reasonably smart footy tonight in terms of defensive set ups was in the 3rd. We didn't have a ruckman for the most part but we are still also finding ways to undo much of our good work.

Leadership. Lack of composure. Blind kicks and handballs. Stoppage set up nightmare in last quarter. Really p**sed off about this one.

Well what can one say. Injuries did get us but once again composure of the big guns was not good.

Jack watts is a star. Most critised by Goodwin but has proven him wrong.

We still lack that polished touch. We are yet a top 8 side and nor are Richmond .

Just st so sad.

Should have gone for Pedo to help out Spencer. Watts is far too valuable to waste as a second string ruck.

Totally agree. He's is mobile and a great user/thinker, but we need another option up forward. Even if Smith didn't get injured, he isn't the answer.

We have Garlett and Hogan up forward, but when either one of them doesn't fire, we have too few to kick the necessary amount of goals to win.

Pedo comes in for Spencer, so who comes in for Smith?

Our depth is getting seriously tested, and it doesn't help when half the midfield decides to put in a poor performance either.

Fair enough but our overuse of handball and poor execution cost us dearly.

The AFL are an absolute disgrace! They should have stopped the game at 3/4 time due to expected lightning strikes! ?

We are a good contested ball side but butcher the ball way too many times.

In the end shot ourselves in a the foot yet again .

Injuries don't help but dominating games for large periods and being unable to convert is our biggest worry.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie
