I fully agree with this! Not only Richmond/Hawthorn/Geelong but also Bombers/Kangas/Saints! We have to move swiftly to dominate this League before the other six Victorian teams come snapping at our heels! (BTW> 33,520 members and climbing!)

p.s. I also agree with Binman regarding the advantages of an alliance with the Melbourne Vixens!

Sometimes think that D'landers should be on the marketing team, often good ideas that should be considered.

Any particular reason? For example, are you not members or, perhaps, "not-yet-renewed members" and they were encouraging you to join/rejoin?

I am as tragically rusted on MFC member as you can get and will always remain grateful that others can't see how much time I waste thinking about all things Melbourne. Unfortunately the club don't know that the only reason that I won't renew is because I have passed on (and like my father I hope to have my ashes scattered at CHF, scoreboard end) so Josh rang last night to see if I was going to sign up as I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Did anyone else get a call from any players last night?

Got a call to renew and did. Didnt know players were calling so potentially spoke to someone. Had a bit of a laugh with him that i need the boys to win due to making too many bets with a saints mate.

Just signed up today, got a reserved seat this year but I probably won't be able to make it all games, I know membership isn't transferable but I was just wondering if I might be able to give my card and seat to my sister when I can't make it?  Never had a reserved seat, so can anyone answer if the MCG staff strict on the names in reserved bays or do they just care if the card matches the bay etc?

Cheers and go Dees. (Sorry for hijack)

Na, I've had a reserved seat for years. They don't care who you are, just that you have a valid ticket.

Looking at the trends, look like approx. 2500 sign up either at the first game or the week leading into the first game, so by end March we should be pushing 38K.  Hopefully by Anzac Eve game V Richmond we hit the 40K mark

@george_on_the_outer

Thanks for adding the dates to the table in

Must have taken eons to get the past year data.  It really gives another insight into how we are tracking.  Thanks for the efforts.

And, congratulations Ethan T.  A budding AFLW champion, I hope!

Well I re-signed my mum up on the day of the melbourne/carlton pre season game at Casey which was 3 weeks ago. I filled out the form and the girl said she couldn't process payment but wrote down my credit card details on the form. So far 3 weeks later money hasn't been taken from my account so it obviously hasn't been processed. I emailed the membership department on friday as I work before and after office hours and got no response.

So at some satge 1 more will be added to the total. Just hope they haven't lost my form.

Let us know how you get on signing up someone with a date of birth that's in the future.

And, much more importantly - congratulations.

I have always signed up my kids before they were born you just give them due date can change it later and they send out membership card with last name on it and baby as 1st name

I'm lazy enough that once I've got some documentation that calls my child "Baby Comedia", the child better get used to the name because I'm not going to bother changing it.

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play
