Bugg had 9 tackles yesterday. I doubt he will be dropped. He is sloppy with the ball at times but he has some strengths. He needs to improve to be a long term player but he is only 23.

Out: Garland (never to be seen again), Jetta, Mitchie

In: Dunn, ANB, Lumumba

I don't know what it is about Garland.... Every time you see him he just looks beaten, maybe the last of the Neeld years that just cant let go of the past.

H in for Jetta. Would be surprised to see Wagner/Hunt dropped under the circumstances.

ANB or Newton in for mystery injury of the week, and/or Michie.

Dean Kent?

Watch this space.

Michie surely needs to be dropped. Had very little impact, and for a bloke of his size no tackles and two contested possession simply isn't good enough.

Also thought he had little impact in our win against the Suns.

Hopefully Kent is ok and ready to return, also think ANB has well and truly earnt his spot.

I find it interesting Kent mysteriously has an injury the week after making those weird comments about his contract situation...

He made those comments in February - Last week's article was just quoting a previous interview.

If there's a perfect game to have Trengove to return, this is it.  Wouldn't be surprised if this was dangled in front of him during his meeting with Roos.

It's hard to know how the likes of Wagner and Hunt are travelling, and it's also hard to know how H has recovered.  With no knowledge, I could see;

In - ANB, Trengove, Dunn, H

Out - Jetta, Garland, Michie, Wagner/Hunt

Could be any number of combinations of the above.

I must be either drunk, or that last 5mg of Oxycodone i took might have been more than my pain required, but for once i wouldnt be hitting the panic button after a loss.

Yeah we were beaten by 5 goals.... and i hate losing.... but anyone who thought we would win were drinking their bath water. The Dogs are a genuine threat for the main prize this year, and that loss wasn't as bad as it could (and only last year probably WOULD) have been.

Garland is my only out based on form, and with chooklotto rubbing out Jetta, that's the only 2 changes i would make. Yeah Pedo had a bad game, and so did Hunt (who, incidentally, i still have doubts over), but i reckon we can give them the benefit of the doubt, as well as back the other guys who were down this week to turn it around against Brisvegas. Surely most have earned it after the last few weeks.

Outs    Garland and Jets (insert sadface as we will REALLY miss Jets)

Ins       Dunn and ANB.

We will beat the Bears. Easily.... by something like 8 goals..................

There, i said it.

I agree with that.  I also noticed at least twice yesterday when he won very clean possession of super hot contested ball.  I think we'll persist, ultimately he will improve in his areas or will be replaced by a very good player.

I think there's horses for courses - against the Dogs we could have done with some extra inside grunt (or more contribution from Jones and Oliver), I don't think that's what we'll need against Brisbane with their current make-up so ANB and Trengove may not get the look in they probably deserve.

Plenty of potential outs this week. Michie and Wagner top of my list. Bugg lucky. Any two of Trengove, Neal-Bullen and Grimes will do me fine.

Never assess a players' performance based on their tackle count. Libba had an AFL record with 19, and Viney wasn't far behind. Champion Data's definition of a tackle is a farce.

Lions are getting a proper roasting on 360.

A generally forgotten club yet the week we face them is the week the players come under fierce scrutiny.

Is it just me or does this happen to us a lot?

Happens a fair bit. Good news is we dispatched of Richmond and Collingwood coming off a roasting, and Brisbane are far more ordinary.

Six players up for consideration with only one certain inclusion IMO.

The one certain in, subject to him passing concussion tests, is Lumumba and with Jetta out, there's a direct spot for him.

The other five that will get some love at selection meeting, although all could miss out again are:

Three midfielders

1) Grimes - the 23rd man three times now, one of the fittest blokes pre-season behind only Viney and T-Mac, and clearly the hardest done by this season - but that makes no difference I know. Would most likely play on a wing and with Billy one of our best, it would require a decision to rest Harmes for it to happen. Can't see it happening.

2) Neal-Bullen - Has been clocking up high-disposal numbers each week and is now getting close to Tom Mitchell's stats from Sydney reserves two years ago. The problem is he has to win a spot in the middle of the park, so unless they want to do the dirty on Oliver, it ain't going to happen this week.

3) Newton - Two huge weeks, including his 18 tackle game last week when he played more inside than on the wing. I reckon he's behind the other two in the queue, so unless we are making an example of a few, then he won't play. Based on rotating our 23rd man, I reckon he's a huge chance to miss the Box Hill Saturday night clash.

Two defenders

1) Lynden Dunn - Has been a class above in the VFL the past two weeks, but will they go back to him given they blamed him for the zone failure against the Saints? The fact that the zone failed so dismally in the first term v the Dogs probably shows it wasn't completely his fault v the Saints. So will his superior foot skills win against the greater speed of Garland?

2) Oscar McDonald - Taller, younger, quicker than Dunn, but quite clearly not as smart (with tunnelling) or clean with the ball in hand. Quite obviously they are keen to give him a go and his extra height against Josh Schache might be the factor that gets him in ahead of Col. But personally I wouldn't do it yet.

The good thing is that the game v Box Hill is a night game and will be a high level - so a good showing there will count more down the track.

So I'm tipping just the one out Jetta, and just the one in with Lumumba.

Well summed up Deespicable, however, I would like to see ANB, Dunn and one other to come into the side this week a couple of our youngsters look like they could do with a rest!!

Like others, I'm thinking Lamumba for Jetta is likely.  The only thing is that I think we're missing Dunn defensively.  It's not his attacking output but his ability to stop the strong opponents.  TMac seems to be struggling being the No. 1 defender, so bringing Dunn back in should free him up as well.

Jetta is out for one week, and Bernie is all good. I think 3 changes:

Out: Jetta, Garland, Michie

In: Nibbler, H, Trenners

You could build a case to drop 6 after last week, i just don't think it will happen. Nibbler and Trenners have been very consistent in the twos.

Yes, but who - that is the problem and why I think they'll stick with Harmes, Oliver and Kennedy for another week.

Further to this we are playing Brisbane - who will be revved up, but will be without their two best midfielders.

Given we are playing the Lions, I have had another thought.

There is one more player who may be considered and that's Weideman. He's been handy (without dominating) at VFL level and they may just feel it's time to blood him at AFL level and try and fast-track him a bit against a weaker side. If that's the case then Pedo will miss, unless of course Lumumba is another week away and they decide to go with a bigger line-up.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
