The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here

Jesse says 'we will take a 5/4 start to the season': http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2016-05-22/well-take-that-season-start-says-hogan

" Hogan said it was a genuinely positive start to the 2016 season for the club."  Have we exceeded his 'improvement' expectations?  One step close to getting his signature, perhaps:cool::wub:

His performances over the the last month seem to have quietened his detractors making for more enjoyable footy for him.  Signs are all positive.  The outline of the new CBA will be known in the next month or two.  So, hopefully if he is to sign he will before end of the season.

Yes MFC can only do what they are doing and that is have a strong, stable Club and keep winning games. One of my main concerns with Jesse is that when he started in the club his mentor and house mate was Mitch Clark and we all know what his thoughts were on loyalty and honesty...... Just hope those early days and any influence Mitch may have had on Jesse are all forgotten and he opens up negotiations soon  with the club.

NEEDS THE COACHING DEPT TO STRAIGHTEN THIS FLAW OUT!

I love your posts Picket.

They remind me that even when I think I'm stressing out with no reason, somebody is more of a deadest lunatic that goes off the handle and throws the toys out of the cot than I could ever be.  Bravo to you sir, you are an A grade nutter.

If I could lend you some meds I wouldn't, I'd poke you with a stick and give you new ammunition to worry you just so I can watch you go on....and on.....and on :)

and on.....and on.....and on.....

This from the latest article on Jesse:

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/jesse-hogan-says-his-selfish-body-language-is-a-thing-of-the-past-after-advice-from-wayne-carey/news-story/05cbf93b33d99498568a84a12f13cc40

Melbourne’s forwards were noted for their selflessness in sharing goals on Saturday, with Hogan saying they will get better the longer they stay together.

And if he has fun in a winning side, why would he want to leave the Demons?

“We are starting to get that chemistry. Everyone gets a lick (of the ice cream). Jeffy (Garlett) probably handed off five or six goals and Harmsey (James Harmes) got on the end of three Joe-the-Gooses in the last quarter and it’s just fun to play,’’ he said.

“The longer we can remain together, the more fun it will be.”

When Scully, Ablett, Buddy left there clubs the entire football world was saying it was going to happen about 12 months before it did.

At the moment everyone is saying Hogan will stay, that's a good sign.

Haha that would be sweet!

Coming from WA I hear a lot of Freo supporters sure he is coming to them. It would just be great if he signed a contract extension that week and then came out and kicked a bag of 6 or 7.

Thinking this change of demeanour on the ground will soon reflect in a signature off it.

A certain person who works for Freo, is an expat Melburnian.  This person was in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago.  A friend of mine, who is a friend of this person, caught up for a drink.  This person, working for Freo, told my friend that Freo had "sealed" the deal.

My response to my friend?  You didn't need that second bottle of red and I will believe it, only when I see it.  My fingers remain firmly crossed.

How could this be possible? Still contracted until end of 2017. I believe entering contacts with contracted players is not legal. (Yes I remember voldemort) How valid is an agreement that is illegal? Has the MFC done a trade- NO, so 2018 would be the earliest he could return to WA and a lot can change before then. I'm calling this B U L L S H I T

Did he say whether that was likely to be at the end of this year or next?  IMO, if Hogan doesn't sign up by the end of this season, he's leaving. He'd understand that his early signature/contract is important for the club's list management and potential success, in addition to membership and sponsorship. If he wants success at Melbourne, he'll sign early.

Hmmm....Freo tanking  playing youngsters to improve their draft position to give to Melbourne (plus a quality player...Neale ?)  for Hogan. We bring on Weideman and Huelett as forwards next year and gain another quality mid....just saying....I hope Hogan stays, it's our turn at the top.

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out
