I know it's not our home ground but it's our home game. Past home matches the crowd hasn't been great and that is mainly due to the teams performance. But we need the fans to get there tomorrow and make it loud like it was last week.

We are playing some good footy at the moment and shock horror we are winning and going for our 3rd in a row. Petracca will be making his debut which will be exciting.

It would just be great to see a lot of red and blue.

Catching a train out of town from Spencer Street at 6... seems only logical to loiter over the other side of the tracks for the afternoon!

Not sure how Etihad security will react to a bunch of suitcases though. I'll have to check my white privilege on the way in. Phew! Glad I got that.

So anyway, anyone know much about this Petruccio kid apaprentl making his debut?

This is how I feel. Yes, we all don't like the fact we're playing at Etihad. But let's just come out and support our best team in ages. Members can take a train 2 extra stops. Good Robbo video too

Got two tkts level 2 using my MFC memberships ..  Didn't want to go potentially level 3 just using my Melbourne Football Club membership.  I absolutely loath ethiad but routinely fork out $ to support my team & go to this horrible ground. Last years loss was one of the worst losses I can remember .....we so should have won....but this is the team that I love & follow so I  will go there tomz & am optimistic .   I am even taking my Collingwood supporting partner who actually loves the Dee's ....(can't return the favour unfortunately)  so get on board all you Dee's supporters .....I want to be able to say I saw  Petracca play his first game Go Dee's !!

Pretty sure I'll be able to say I was on the couch watching from home.  If I can free myself up early enough I'll come in, but it doesn't seem likely.

I got up at 5am to catch the train down. I was really keen to see this game.

But then i made the mistake of checking the seating. I am so very angry that we are forced to play at this airless soulless stadium, and now to find out that a premium Melbourne membership gets me a seat in the bleachers! (I smoke, so first-in arrangements rule me last).

Who sits on Level 2? Really!? Why are there no L2 seats reserved for us?

Sorry OP, I just can't handle 8 hours of travel to sit in the effin bleachers nursing my pointless membership card knowing that I've been screwged by the AFL once again.

This is not a home game. I am going back to bed.

edit: very upset by this.

Hopefully the MFC fan base makes up for the putrid crowd of 8,000 that turned up to the last home game there.

Pathetic effort from the MFC members and supporters that day, when you consider less than 20% of members showed up.

Don't be Melbourne snobs, it's ok to go past Richmond station.

Head to Etihad and yell extra loud for me. I would be there in a heartbeat if I wasn't overseas (which is generally way better than being at home, except when we are winning!)

Its embarrassing that there is a video on how to get there. I know it's a joke, but really...

there will be at least 30k there today, I have no doubt of that.

I'd rather fork out money to go to the NT twice than go to Etihad once.   Its just a soulless sheizen hole.

Sorry

We could have got 50k to this game if it was at the G.

What is the capacity at Shitihad?

All the people on here sooking about going to etihad. Ffs really? There are goal posts at each end, seats if you want to sit, rails if you want to lean and beer if you want a drink. Stop crying like pretentious spoilt brats and go watch the Dees rack up three in a row.

Oh yeah, by NOT going to this game out of protest at it being at etihad, you're hurting your own clubs bottom line.

MFC supporters whingeing and sooking is in the DNA of some    me haven't missed a game at Etihad since we started playing there

Forked out extra coin to use the MCC reciprocal rights. Didn't want to chance my arm with MFC entry (proud and paid up MFC member as well!).

Not an ideal situation, but I figured it's our home game and the break-even at Etihad is apparently ~30,000 (MCG is ~25,000...?) so hopefully it flows through to the club!!

Plus I'm champing at the bit to see the Tracc's debut!

I appreciate the commitment and support by fans but people imo are excused form going to a home game at ethiad. Given that st kildas home game against melbourne in the next coulple of months isnt at the mcg (yes its at ethiad again) supporters should feel a little taken advantage of.

If I could get there today I would despite the inequality as I dearly want the dees to win.

So thank you to all the people that do turn up and reveal their passion.

No thanks to those responsible for playing another of our HOME games not at home.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
