Ess home game, dilemma in letting any of my cash go to the cheats.

I'm pretty sure this game is a replacement game for one of the NT games so any 11 game or less member can still use their card to get in.

These are the games we have to win and win well if we are going to play finals, no excuses, we should beat this mob by 10 goals

True, which I do, I may just have to bring my own food and drinks. heading along to the GWS game with my (he will be) 6 month old for his first taste of it.

Introducing the kids to the Melbourne Football Club is one of life's great pleasures!

My eldest lad just turned 7 in January and has been a member for all 7 years... He lives and breathes his beloved Demons and it makes me so proud considering we live in the $hithole that is Adelaide!

Enjoy it.... And hopefully our children enjoy more success than their poor old parents! :)

What fine or suspension did the club receive after the 34 players were found guilty of using PED's? --- NONE

If one attends the game one supports their team. Financial benefit.

I will stick to my meaningless boycott and you can help fund EFC.

No, if you attend the game you support OUR team.

There couldn't be much worse for our boys than to show up to this horror show of a tribute to drug cheats and arrogance with a stadium full of Essendon supporters cheering them on and no support for Melbourne.

Like with every game we play, the more support we can get (whether home or away), the better it is for the players.

Do you refuse to attend Carlton games because they once cheated by breaching the salary cap?

We should recreate the "hird" moment for them...Who can we get to line up whom ??

I have taken the major step of ensuring that I am out of the country altogether when the Bomber fans give their team a standing ovation before the game on 2 April.

I do however, hope that after the game, the standing ovation will be for the Melbourne team.

That's the main thing that matters.

I'm not commenting on boycotting, but I wouldn't compare breaching the salary cap (or 'not tanking') with what Essendon has done.

a Bombers-supporting mate told me he was at training and somebody drove past and wound down the window and yelled YA F--ING DRUG CHEATS! in what must have been an hilarious act of drive-by abuse. My mate said he realises the club will never, ever live it down. I enjoyed the conversation.

Chicago Black Sox. A hundred years later, it is still remembered.

Even in this country, with bugger all pedigree in baseball!

EFC will never, ever live it down.

Don't worry, we've got this.

For what it's worth, the Bombers only score came from a rushed behind.

Great to see them getting their butts kicked. Lets how the Dees can do as well if not better when we meet them in round 2.

How are fines and suspensions "self inflicted wounds"?

Much like our punishment for "bringing the game into disrepute..but definitely not tanking", Essenson have been punished. There have been some detours along the way, but they've been punished. How do you want to further punish them? More fines? Jail time? The club is stuffed for years to come. I hate them as much as anyone but get serious.

Your protest on the grounds they haven't been punished is flimsy at best, and ultimately meaningless. Attend the game and support YOUR team.

It seems that they will be allowed draft picks according to their finishing position, which surely will mean pick 1 or 2 - rewarded.

They still have the ANZAC game - rewarded.

They still have numerous prime time matches - rewarded, even though they are likely to be poor matches.  Rewarded.

Players will be missing both from EFC and other teams.  Top up picks for the offenders; none for the others.  Rewarded.

WADA rules for team involvement as I understand should involve team suspensions.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
