I've read he's injured his troublesome calf again. At the time of his departure I thought we were screwed however I'm now of the belief we're ahead in the trade and might just win. I sense his retirement /delisting is getting closer as he only played half dozen games in 3 - 4 years.

Yes.

Always said right from the start that the worst thing he could have done is make his comeback to football. Its been nothing but a giant flop for Geelong. The injuries and mental demands of the game wasn't suited for someone that had 'depression'.

Sad to see a great talent destroyed by injury and illness. 

I really believe he was on the verge of something great when he came down with that debilitating Lisfranc injury. What followed was a tragedy for the player and the club.

I don't think you can say we ended up "dodging" a bullet because we went to great lengths and invested heavily in Mitch and lost out badly as a result of his long running injury and the mental problems that followed.

I hope he recovers and gets some enjoyment from the tail end of his career. He's had a pretty wretched run.

Ands thats sugarcoating it. Im still trying to work out how on one hand he hot all teary and emotional about Stynes journey aswell as wearing 11 then on the other, no problem quitting on us(+$). I dont think he'll endear himself or has to his teammates at the Cattery.

He is a great talent, it is sad that he will always struggle to get on the park now. Without the insidious injury he suffered with us he could have been anything. What a 200 cm mobile pack marking forward, come ruckman or ruck rover whatever you want really. A loss to the game. Still if he gets fit at the pointy end of the season he could be valuable for the Cats.

Agree. Sad all round from Year 1. 2011 draft was a stinker...classic Neeld screw up. Mitch Clark plus draftees Taggert, Tynan & Sellar.  Missed Devon Smith who was always going to be a player. I had him top 10 and he lasted to pick 14.

Hopefully Lamumba has a few years left and he provides the settle and experience in finals footy ahead.

Exactly. The bullet hit us square in the MFCSS muscle. We're just lucky it didn't ruin any vital organs and passed through (relatively) cleanly.

I was really disappointed when he left but ever since a game I saw last year at SS where he was just continuously jumper punching his opponent (who was putting up his hands saying I'm done let's play football) I've known we dodged a bullet with having him leave. Physically and mentally he is very fragile, much was made about his mental issues but coming back from such a serious injury always comes with muscle complications.

If he strings 6 games in a row for the rest of his career I'll be shocked.

I certainly wish him well but it was hard not to feel let down by him after the Club had done all it could to help Mitch then find out he wanted to make a comeback to footy but couldn't do it at Melbourne & had to go to a new Club.

I also lost all respect for Liam Jurrah the year he walked out on the Club on the eve of the VFL finals when he was supposed to be playing for Casey.
