Tom McDonald (and Oscar) SIGNS.

You people are having a laugh.

He played a great game on one of the best forwards in the comp.

Give it a rest McDonald haters. We need to get him signed, and if he doesn't, it is a disaster for our list going forward... unless you think Jetta should be our CHB next year!

All players make mistakes.  They held their forward line to 2-3 goals. I would say that's a handy day for the backs

FFS. The game's on the line, and you're content with players making basic mistakes? We're forever destined for mediocrity with that mentality.

FYI Tom Lynch is the best player in the AFL at the moment.

He's an absolute jet, not to many defenders wouldn't have nightmares about playing him, and the scary part is when the Suns aren't a basket case he's going to get far better supply than he is now and put daylight between himself and any other key forward in the game.

I thought T'mac was about the only reason he didn't blow the game apart today.

Tom McDonald had ONE mis-kick that went to 50:50.  Supporters are watching and willing him to turn it over.  He started some great chains yesterday, the pity was our decision making and execution further up the ground were off.

Oscar McDonald took some nice contested marks early.  He's got some way to go but he's developing.

Tom Lynch is a tremendous player.

Yep ... there's an old adage in footy that rings true ... "You called for it, you get it"  A player making position is effectively calling for the ball and that recipient player has to take into account that the disposal coming in his direction may not be perfect.  So often we see a recipient player give up on the play and not make a contest and that's half the problem.  The pleasing part of that 50/50 yesterday was that Frost (?) didn't give up on the play.  Frost played a really good game regardless.

Also, players calling for the ball should be on the move and preferably moving at pace ... the player disposing of the ball then has an easier target.  It's basic footy '101'

Tom is obviously under instruction to set up the play from the backline and the coaches would be taking into account that he (and others) are going to make the odd error in that process.  The team is a work in progress and so are many of our players.

We could go back to kicking it down the line looking for a stoppage (2012/13) ... we'd then be screaming about how ineffective our transition out of defence would be.  It's a risk/reward situation and I'm quite happy to go with it.

Is it strange that his brother is also unsigned as well?

I'd have thought both would be required players

By the way Tom's having a pretty good season

Yeah I agree, you'd think the club would've given him a new 2 year deal already,  considering he's had a golden ticket at selection all year.

I'd do T'mac, O'mac and our second rounder for Hurley and Hibberd.

Doddario would want Hogan, Brayshaw, Petracca, our 2017 first rounder and Goodwin as coach

It's confirmation bias in here thats the problem, he makes one or two BAD errors per match and everyone thinks he does it all day.

Correct.

Bernie Vince nearly cost us a game yesterday with the worst kick execution and decision making I've seen in a long time. Vince has almost 10 years on TMac.

Yes his kicking is suspect, but FCS he is a brilliant defender and saves 100% more goals than he gives away.

I'd keep them both and work out an innovative way to get Hurley and Hibberd. Just remember that the Prestia rumour has been around longer than the Hurley one and last weekend's round might just have convinced his management that the touted Richmond option is de-railing their client's future success.

If you want to swap players, give them Dunn and Garland, not our developing youth.

My fear is that another club has made a big play for both O and Tmac knowing they were unlikely to want to be separated. It feels like bigger news to me, or more revealing anyway, that Oscar hasn't re-signed. He's just arrived at the club and been given almost every game. Clearly the club believes in him and yet.....no signature. Something is going on. Would feel crushing to lose both of those guys.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
