MRP

Buddy lucky. It looked like 2 weeks. Tippett 1 is fine.

The big problems with the MRP come where non malicious acts (see May) get multiple weeks due to a player being injured.

Otherwise taking injury in to account isn't a bad idea and the MRP have got most right so far this year.

thought buddy was lucky

thought it intentional or reckless, not careless

There is no reckless.

In their wisdom the MRP removed negligent and reckless and combined them for careless. So it's now very hard to find the middle ground that the 3 previous categories provided.

I'm p1ssed off only because I'm forced to trade out Lance in my DreanmTeam for one week, therefore getting rid of a trade coming into finals time. Franklin you Pr&$k!

Franklin decision is pizz poor. If his name wasn't Franklin, or if he played for anyone else (apart from the expansion clubs), he would have copped 3.

Too right. And the bigger issue is the fact the because Edwards wasn't concussed he's only got one week. It absolutely shocks me that it requires a player to get concussed for the correct penalty to apply. That had far far more potential to injure than Steven Mays yet he's got a third of the time. The consistency may have improved in the MRP, but it still doesn't mean theyre not consistently rubbish outcomes.

I think the careless grading is in reference to Buddy making contact with Edwards' head. i.e. He may have laid an illegal tackle etc but it was not his intention to make contact with Edwards' head

of course it was intentional. He chose to leave the ball on the ball that he had to run past to go and bump an opponent, it could be nothing than intentional

I'm surprised Franklin and Tippet didn't get off!

Franklin should have got 3 and Tippet 2 but really did anyone expect they'd get that?

Have to agree Dr G. In what parallel universe is Franklin's one week? The normal grading jargon bs is always trotted out but it bares no relation to what we all saw with our own eyes. One week for an intentional shirt front is garbage.

On another note, we haven't had anyone front up to date this year (from memory). Is this unusual and how does it compare to other clubs? - can't be bothered looking it up. Are we soft, lucky, disciplined, been given favourable treatment?

What if Edwards doesn't play this week due to concussion? It is a crazy little system the have in place I thought he was gone for 4ish.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
