I wonder if todays HS article may change the Worsfold outlook at the Bombers?

A coach who looks the other way? As jotnar said, marriage made in heaven.

especially if afl integrity inquiry drags on

It will "drag on" all the way to Melb Cup day when it will be quietly announced at 7PM that the enquiry has concluded. But don't hang by the nads waiting for the "findings" to be announced (some time in 2036).

of course afl will stage manage it

Does it even need saying.

Sounds like the EFC

Neeld took over a club that had virtually no AFL standard players, a hapless board that offered no support and whom all resigned one way or the other, a poor administration and senior football department officials, and an ever dwindling support base.

Yet another masterful sweeping statement that adds nothing to the sum of human knowledge (and may, in fact detract from it.) Congratulations.

Just reported on AFL that Dons have appointed....

A bit late, but 2 days ago I was told by someone who has regular contact with McCartney that he told them a week ago that he'd signed on for another year with MFC, and that Worsfold has the Essendon gig.

3rd hand, but I believe it.

It's not in Essendon's DNA to get someone low key like Macca. Last time they tried that it went badly pear shaped (though history is looking a LOT kinder to Matty Knights than was suggested at the time).

That is great news for us...I guess that means he will be with us till end of 2017? Or is that till end 2018?

If he signed more than a week ago it shows McCartney was awake to EFC's faux selection process!

I'm glad Macca isn't going there. He is too good for them.

They wouldn't hesitate to take him in then spit him out if it suits.

They have form: Sheedy, Knights, Bomber and (thankfully) Hird.

Talking of coach selection processes. How well have Adelaide handled it!

Both the selection of the late Phil Walsh and the apparent appointment of Pyke were clear targetting of a candidate.

They got their men.

No faux, media spin process for them.

Great respect for Adelaide this year.

I believe the AFL convention is that he can leave his contract at any time for a higher level position - i.e. head coach at another club.

Been reported that Brendan has been informed that he is out of the running for the Bombers job. Woosha to be announced.

From a selfish point of view, I am thrilled about this.

Was never really in doubt as soon as they announced Scott Burns as a final candidate. Poor bloke's the Leo Dicaprio of coaching gigs.

Didn't get great coverage over here. Everyone thought Ricciuto dropped the ball missing out on Goodwin.

lol

I would make a joke about the Bombers going down in flames, but I am above that...

And that would require them leaving the carrier:

Just how much did The Chemist know what was going on in 2006 & did he dismiss it all until after they had won a tainted flag?

Worsfold to now be head Coach of Essendrug is a dream for those of us waiting for the TV Series!!

What's this now S07E01 :)

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
