Perfect world we get priority pick giving us 2-3-4 use

2&3 throw in toump as well for danger and maybe defender

4 for sheil and mix some later picks around and get frosty in there as well.

none of which will actually happen.

Gazza hasn't extended his contract.....

Gazza was sitting with Stevie J last night barracking passionately for the cats. Look devastated when they lost..

I thought Stevie J was passionate and GAJ looked a bit disinterested. He did manage to break out into a golf clap once or twice.

Can't see the upside in this bloke.

Could unbalance the team.

Tell me about it. His talent would totally unbalance a team lacking talent.

Not even for a straight swap with Blease.

We would be looking at Dangerfield as a messiah and we are a long way off. I'd offer Adelaide pick 3 and a couple of players to get the Crouch brothers and Lyons with a view on building depth. Brad Crouch is going to be a very good player.

Why not both? Give GWS their precious pick 2 for Shiel + their end of first rounder. (which we then trade for another player)

If they want Petracca, then P-2 for Shiel & Jaksch if the Aints don't take him with their 1st pick....

P-3 to either the GCSuns or GWS for a player/s & a 1st Rnd pick.... eg: Jaksch & GWS's end of first rounder & their 3rd Rnd'r. or Jaksch, Jono O'Rourke & their 3rd Rnd'r.

who have the Suns got for our P-3 ??? swallow + ?

Posted

It means we hold the cards.

Also talk about giving them picks 2 and 3 for pick 4 & Shiel

What, thats Not enough.. they will lose Shiel next year for zilch. if we were to trade them P-2 & 3, & Bail, then its Shiel & Jaksch & P-4.

Brad Crouch is already a very very good player. Would walk in and be right behind Nathan Jones as our best midfielder. He is so damaging with his pace and goal kicking. I'd give up pick 3 for him and another late pick.

Last year when we were shopping around pick 2 the crows asked what would you want in return for pick 2, we said Sloane, B.Crouch or Dangerfield, the offered Vince and Mckernan

...and they would say thanks but no thanks.

If we were throwing the cash around I would take him ahead of Danger...

It was reported on SEN that Melbourne had made Dangerfield a "Godfather" offer: Pick 2 and two players. Adelaide knocked it back, which self-evidently means the offer cannot be termed "Godfather" since it was an offer that Adelaide COULD refuse.

This thread is a tease. Danger is possibly the bloke I most love watching and, yes, I would part with one (left probably) to get him to the Dees.

Chances of that happening - about Tattslotto odds I should think. In fact, make that Tattslotto odds when you don't buy a ticket.

Jokes on Adelaide then when he leaves next year and all they get is pick 10.

Clubs need to wake up to free agency. Why settle for one compensation pick when other clubs will pay overs in a trade? Thankfully Roos has his head around the concept. I'm sure if he could do his time over he would've traded Frawley last year.

Thats a good point and may explain why we have pulled Jones to the talk tables also. Perhaps if the club sees hesitation from his party he may also be put up for trade to avoid him walking end of next yr.

We look like we will get a top 4 pick for frawley something the cats, hawks etc cant offer in a trade pick wise unless we got a player in return. Maybe frawely and pick 2 might have gotten danger or slone one will never know. One thing is if we do manage to get a top 4 selection - more then fair comp for the player he is.

He is RFA isn't he, so we can match any offer and he has to stay right?

To think we now have to give up the farm to get him.... When we could have had him for nothing. & we pick Morton!

I know hindsight is great but we have had too many failures @ early picks!

I think Roos was pushing the barrow on this in a very calculated manner.

We were always going to have the coveted high picks for trades, and those statements were about buttering other teams up to get to the trade table. He was also, stating the reality, but with a purpose in mind.

its really easy , Crows take the trade now or loose him end of next year as a free agent and get much less

if we can convince him to come to melbourne then they need to take the trade otherwise waste a year with will he stay or go , just like Frawley

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
