The arrogance of Geelong is quite amazing. When they offered 800k they must have known Adelaide was going to match it. They can surely afford more. If they can't they have managed their list very poorly considering what they have lost this year. Adelaide matching makes is very hard for him to get to Geelong. The odds are against them now, and in favour of any team that can offer a better deal. Danger won't knock back a trade that Adelaide agrees with. As long as he gets to Victoria. That's his decision to make, not theirs. Adelaide match and he stays, Geelong do a deal that's acceptable, another club do a deal that's acceptable to him & Adelaide or he nominates himself for the draft.

I doubt it will get to that and a good deal will be made, most probably with Geelong.

Let me start by prefacing this as saying I don't see us as being a chance to get Dangerdive.

But....

If Adelaide match the Cats offer and there is no chance of a deal happening, Danger could wet his pants and decide not to risk ending up in the draft and at Carlscum so rather than take his chances, elects to go with some certainty, signs with us on a 5mill, 5 year deal that has 2 mill in the first year, 750,000 for the next four years. The first years front loading ensures the crows can't match it. (Nb figures made up)

Not going to happen, but thought I would post it to give the dreamers some hope.
