There is a reason why port had him as fly in fly out assistant coach for two years. He did have North at the top of the ladder for a couple of years.

Even if not a serious contender for senior he should be loooked at very closely as an assistant .

Contrary to others on here, I prefer Laidley to Craig and Eade. I think he's tactically superior and showed at the Roos he knows how to coach. Would still rather Williams, though. Would be ironic (probably not quite the right word) that if we don't get Roos we might instead get the Roo's coach.

I can't see this going anywhere. Laidley is a good match-day coach imo, but he definitely does not have the aura to quickly attract disillusioned members back to the fold, or have potential sponsors knocking at the door of PJ's office. Whilst not at the forefront of selection criteria for our new coach, these would have to be important considerations given the current financial predicament of our club.

So it appears that we don't need a coach that can take the club to the top but a coach who can sell the club to the supporters and sponsers. gee what a great idea, why don't we hire Tim Shaw that should please the masses!!
