  1. Thanks for your time at MFC Jordan Lewis. Bought intelligence and composure to our club

  2. Seriously - some of the posters here should just support another club. Sure - it’s been a schizen season. There are reasons for this - some unfortunate, some probably due to our own incompetence. But to bag out this signing is red hot. Like Burgess, Richardson absolutely had options with several other AFL clubs, and he chose us. Plainly this is a good sign. There’s NO way he would’ve committed to us if he thought we were a basket case - I mean, why would he?! Despite some of the criticism here of him as a failed senior coach, the reality is - he’s a super experienced AFL man and he knows the lay of the land. That he chose us is on any construction a great sign for the future, and IMO an endorsement for the way we are run and our potential for success next year and beyond.

  3. I too am #$@!# off with a game we could have won, but I seem to recall everyone here predicting a huge loss with Brown kicking a bag. I don't suppose I can expect to see any posts saying what we did right to avoid that.

  4. Dead set Jones anyone would know that kick needed to go down the line and we expect our boys to follow this bloke?

  5. That ending was as obvious as a Mills and Boon book. [censored]!

  6. He killed the Coleman medallist. Has really improved to be a valuable player for us, who actually plays each week and usually beats his opponent. Can't wait for more "get rid of Frost posts".

  8. On a positive note Casey Dee's did a great job to be up there with the limited availability of Senior players. Well done Casey and well done to you KC, greatly appreciate your valued efforts during 2019.

  11. Swore violently at the TV throughout... called out the serial turnover kings etc... Just because I prefer to look at the positives, doesn't mean I disagree with the criticism leveled at individuals for poor skills etc. In the end, we did better than we have on many other trips to the Apple Isle. I agree with the glowing reports on Gawn and Fritsch... bur a few other observations concerning the much maligned... ANB was a contributor... the last kick fits snugly with the Norm Smith curse... the tragic past etc etc… but he gets the ball, he gets in scoring positions and he can run out four quarters. His main weakness is body pressure... he caughs it up a bit, however, he is far from our weakest. I'd keep him and see if he can develop under a new regime. Cory Wagner has a go... he kicked a nice running goal and his second efforts are good, can improve, has pace and gets to the contest. Viney took Cunnington out of the game... picked up handy possessions himself... should be persevered with in this role. The inclusion of Preuss allows Max to be damaging in other ways... Pruess is never 'owned' in the ruck contest. He is so much better there than T Mc, Trac, Weid, T Smith etc. He can improve his marking and his running. JKH popped up for some handy marks and distributions... not a lot but enough to be a steadying influence at times... he didn't miss as many targets as he has previously... he didn't seem to get big game time... did not embarrass … can improve... not the worst player on our list

  12. Commentators were drooling over Grundy’s game last night all telecast (it was a great game btw), but Max showed today why he is the greatest in my view. What a professional with a never die attitude! Just remember his game today and we might get through the pain a little bit easier. As far as the Coleman goes, I hope Cameron kicks 12 against the Suns tonight, got sick of the constant cheering for Ben10.

  15. I miss the days prior to 1996 when games like this one weren’t televised and you’d get the 90 seconds highlights package on channel 7’s Sports World the next day. We’d be spared the embarrassment of national TV exposure.

  16. I spoke to a mate who goes for Port and he suggested Port haven’t been the same since Richardson left, a very good developer of people apparently.

  18. Just on the bus heading home from the ground. Happy with the effort from most of the boys. Gawny and Fritsch were amazing. Frost never gave up and I owe him an apology for writing him off at the start of the year.

  19. Petracca : 25 Possessions, 7 Tacxkles 10 Contested possessions isolated involvement ???? ( Handballs far enough to clear an area.) Brayshaw 25 disposal @ 76% , 8 Tackles Without purpose ????? Wagner puts in ,possibly a good potential small fwd ( he is really only a 1st year player

  20. Absolutely 'Ethan'... It's crazy what some are posting on here about wow factor and his St Kilda record. He's here as an assistant and he's one of the best in the business. Very highly regarded. What a great get...

  21. Surprised me that we played pretty well. Gawn superb. We need a key forward. I think we have plenty to look forward to in 2020.

  22. Frosty did well and threatens the opportunities of many opponents.

  23. What was undisciplined about it, he spoiled the ball cleanly and was not even necessarily a mark let alone a 50. Horrible decision to give 50.

  24. Gawn should be Captain in his own right. Viney needs to concentrate being in our best 22.

  25. Glad thats out of the way. The positives I took from the game: 1. No injuries. 2. Showed patches of good ball use, particularly in the third. 3. Fritch, Hunty and Melky playing forward together along with Jones at HF. 4. Petracca in the midfield and midfield balance better in general. 5. Maxy kicking for goal. Looking forward to the players coming back in terrific shape, trading in/out a couple of players, pick two and the footy department changes.

  30. Sorry to disappoint Swyl, I have just flown back in from Italy arrived home 3hrs ago having been overseas at a family wedding, (which I eluded to in other posts). Nothing changes the rumour mongers are still playing Chinese whispers adding little bits here and there. Interesting to see the so called Dud in Mahoney has managed to get Burgess and Richardson on board, imagine 2 sort after footy people chosing to come to this basket case

  31. I seem to recall Alan Richardson always being a very well respected player at Collingwood, due to the way he went about things. Leigh Mathews was full of praise for him in his autobiography, which I would have thought is a pretty good sign of the quality of the guy from a football perspective. I'd also love to prise Voss out of Port as I agree with someone here who thought that he'd be great for our group of young mids in particular. St Kilda were usually a very good tackling team under Richo and I hope he can help get our team back up there in this respect. I noticed in the Swans game in particular, that we allow our opposition to break tackles far too easily on the whole at the moment.

  32. It's the same usuals who bask in the constant negativity and tripe. Yep [censored] we've had a [censored] year, but getting someone in the caliber of Alan Richardson as an assistant coachis a huge coup for us. He credited for Port Adelaide rise in 2013 before getting the full time gig in 2014. I have heard people say that ever since he left Port they just never quite got it right due to his huge influence over the group.

  36. 2020 one step closer and personally I’d like to see a win. Understandable that frustration sets in on game day, but it would be nice to refrain from flo_gs and spuds for today. Some might get their wish and see some players in their last MFC game. Regardless of ability some have busted a gut for the jumper we support and good luck to them if their future is elsewhere.

  37. I'm more excited by Burgess coming on board but at least Richardson is experienced, although he is largely a replacement for McCartney. Chaplin, Rooke, Mathews, Plapp, Egan...and Goodwin... have little experience or had little when they joined. And with Rawlings spending most of the year at Casey - we didn't have much 'pedigree' guiding the players.

  38. He has a record of 7 - 3 against us. He won 5 - 0 against Roos. He lost to Goodwin 2 - 3.

  39. At the conclusion of today's game I would ask we all observe a minutes silence. In respect of the death of another Melbourne Season
    4 points
  40. I wouldn’t be too sure of that. I tuned into last night’s game expecting Collingwood to kick a cricket score against Essendon and they struggled to shake them off until after three quarter time. On second thoughts, it was a cricket score being close to what the Poms managed in their first innings.

  41. If we were engaging him as head coach, perhaps you'd have a point. But we aren't.

  42. Yep, we’re going under. Batten down the hatches. That Burgess and Richardson have chosen us over several other AFL clubs is a fact. They’re both experienced AFL men. You seriously think they selected us because they want to end their careers? Perhaps you’re not seeing things as objectively as I suspect you think you are. And yep - I know we’ve been hopeless this season. Everyone knows this including, I expect, everyone associated with the club.

  43. Nice post, but lets get real - how on earth does the mentality of supporters have any effect whatsoever on the 22 blokes that go out and actually play the game every week? And what does "demand better" actually mean? Abusing them at games? Angrier posts on DL? Getting saty to go and have 1 on 1 convos with them all at training saying he demands better?
    4 points
  44. Good signing for the club. As other posters have mentioned, Richo and Burgess had a good working relationship at Port and is a key reason why Richo came to Melbourne. Goody and Richo have a similar coaching mantra where they embrace players as opposed to firing rockets up them, and are generally non-confrontational, so I think we will see a more cohesive coaching panel which will translate to better game day performances.

  45. Lets hope he follows in Leppa's role at Richmond. Terrible coach at Lions who turned into a an fantastic assistant that took them to a flag

  46. Richo is a great get...I had hoped we would pick him up when the Saints were making life hard for him. Forget his senior record, not all coaches excel in the senior role. Richo is a very, very highly regarded assistant. For the new sayers on here, you seriously have no idea...
