You can't teach speed or jumping ability that much.  I like the selection.   It reminds me of Jack Steele, present st.kilda captain.   Steele also performed really well at the combine but was never spoken much about.  We've got a few smaller midfielders coming through but lack a taller one, so a good fit all round.

I trust our recruiters as they have a very good strike rate, but my gut says you shouldn’t take small fwds or outside mids inside the first 10 and should be looking at an outside mid only with our with our 2nd pick. We should be looking for a Steven May replacement given Petty is also likely out in a year or 2 as well. Curtin seems like the ready made replacement and seems highly regarded or Caddy if we want more fwd options.

Josh Kelly anyone?

I’m not a draft guru by any stretch but what is the reason we didn’t go for Curtain ? He would be good as part of the transition for our back line as we are getting older.

Is it because he is from WA and the go home factor.

Doubts over his strength at the contest and athleticism. Read the quotes in the thread that say he’s pretty much a 3rd tall back.

Not entirely sure I agree but you want guys who’s strengths are genuine strengths for their position.

JT and co clearly believe Windsor’s pace, run and skill stack up.

Jack Steele was a GWS academy pick.

Where the hell have you been?

I was holidaying in Guantanamo Bay.

Eventually the torture proved too much for them.

So I'm back.

Not a great draft but Pick 2 over Bont at 4 and Cripps 13, beside at time of draft I don’t think he was seem as an outside mid more as just all rounder mid, Windsor has been drafted specifically to play wing from the sound of it

Somethings up. He drifted to 8, and looked a logical top 5 selection. Freo supporter, idolized Pav, but seemed happy enough to land anywhere.

Let's try to be positive here. We had a clear need for more speed and outside talent. This kid directly addresses that and I'm sure we wouldn't have taken him at 7 if we were sure he'd be there at 13. JT has given us no reason to distrust his ability to find talent (especially bolter talent).

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
