Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Geelong to good tonight unfortunately. Incredibly frustrating game to watch so many players getting caught with the ball, the bounce of the ball also just seemed to follow Cats players, skill errors and we looked like slipping over all night. Max and LJ just not being able to take those pressure reliving marks hurt. So many players were way below par tonight and that seems to be the case more often than not lately.

Glad it wasn't just me that thought that about the bounce of the ball.

Good points.

Deliberate kick to the players hand, reportable, deliberate, straight to tribunal.

No way it was deliberate. Ball was bouncing around and he kicked it in mid air. Just so happens Clayton went to grab the pill. Free kick as it was and that's it.

Carbon copy of the dogs game at the g last year. get close but overrun late because you can't get away with it when a lot of your team are well off their best.

Not sure about that - that game was equal scoring shots, marks i50 etc but the free kick count killed us.

This was different and was a mauling - most rounded loss (as in, all facets of the game) for some time.

Small ground plays a part but Geelong have added significant speed and pressure to their game. They're a different outfit this year and if they bring that brand in finals they'll be hard to beat wherever the game is

We didn't have a loss like that all last year in terms of scoring shots conceded - lots and lots of easy looks within 30 too. They just happened to miss most of them

Salem hasn't looked right since his return.

Missing simple kicks and simply not reading the play as he normally would. Hoping he picks up the pace again soon as we're a completely different beast when he's firing.

Frustrating game to watch and as a Geelong resident, I hate losing it, but very predictable result. We’ve still got 3 weeks of sluggish stuff to come before we begin to taper.

You either believe the Brisbane game was a fluke and tonight was the true measure of our team, or you believe Brisbane was a taste of what we can do when we don’t have the loading shackles on.  I know what I believe and tonight’s  result doesn’t worry me in the slightest.

It was round 19 last year when we lost to the Dogs, before going on our premiership-winning streak.

Bummer I just told everyone here that Rd 17 was our loss to the Dogs before going on the run. Total nitwit.

What a horrible performance. Only thing savings us being thumped by 8 goals was their inability to convert.

Have no idea where to genuinely start.. our senior leaders were horrible plain and simple. Gawn was non existent and could barely lift his arms whilst Steven May was close to worst on ground.

What on earth was our game plan tonight? Kick long down the contest and get out numbered around stoppages? This was so [censored] predictable and we showed no intent to switch the ball and play through the corridor.  Geelong on the other hand sliced us through the middle and opened our defence up so easily. We were incredibly slow to react to their transition.

Tonight was some of the worst individual performances we've seen tonight.

Guys like Bowey, Sparrow, Spargo, Bedford have all been horrible the past few weeks and need to spend some time at Casey. It's time to start rewarding guys who are in form and not continue to reward mediocrity performance that the likes of Bowey, Sparrow and Spargo have dish up for the past month.

Bowey especially just got pushed aside far too easily. If he wants to make it as an AFL footballer then building his core strength has to be first priority.

I genuinely have no idea what Sparrow adds to our side. Legit. Non existent once again. He's not even a ball winner and his awareness and reaction is so slow for a mid. Would feel more at ease with Dunstan in the side then this bloke.

Spargo has been missing all year. Just hasnt had the same impact as last year. Time see what Chandler has to offer because right at this minute, Spargo is a squad clogger and needs to seriously find form

Jordon was awful.

Harmes is a dead set shocker. I genuinely can't believe what I see when I see him attempt Dusty don't argues and then gets pinged for holding the ball. Infuriating!

Steven May hasn't won back any respect on performance since he has come into the side. Happy to be lippy on the drink but then puts on one of the worst performances you'll see. His game tonight was just littered with skill errors and soft acts. You could tell he was not all there from the opening bounce.

Fritsch is a selfish [censored]. Genuinely starting to dislike him as a player purely based on these selfish acts. Had the golden opportunity in the last quarter to handball to a Langdon all alone running into an open goal but instead tries a dribble kick across goal. Langdon was absolutely giving it to him and rightly so. How on earth have the coaches not pulled him up on that?

Salem is a shadow of his self from last year. Just zero influence unfortunately.

Positives were I thought Petty was our best backman for the night. Genuinely starting to get sick of him not being mentioned in the same boat as Lever and May because he is close to being an elite defender in my eyes

Overall, we simply got smashed on our own game. Geelong just seem to out number us around the stoppages. We lacked composure once again going inside 50. Petracca, Fritsch, Langdon, Spargo, Harmes, Viney were the main culprits.

Whichever you look at it we are simply not as good as last year. We get exposed on the quick turnover and we still have no forward connection. We don't seem to be that one whole connection around the ground as what we were last year. There are some holes on the playing field that is starting to show and good sides have exposed that this year.

We're not winning it this year.

It really amazes me that after Ford shut the Geelong factory which completely buggered the local economy that they still sponsor the cats and the Geelong nuffies are happy about it....

All I want in life is to never play down in Geelong again and have someone break Selwood’s kneecaps. I despise that player more than any other ever. Absolute cheat scumbag and a bog ordinary footballer to boot.

The less said about our pathetic display at football tonight the better.

Geelong are a much better side this year, not the geriatric side people think they are. They’ve found a few good young players .

Should have been a 10 goal loss.

Fumble fumble fumble.

Our fringe players were hopeless.

Connection inside 50 deplorable.

That said, they can turn things around.

Rubbish.

Sparrow was poor tonight, but his previous 3 games were good, especially the last 2.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
