Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

I might be a little discombobulated after the epic celebrations in our house. But, I could have sworn, with 5 minutes to go the commentators showed a a tally of the most possessions in a grand final. It has Tracc on 39, equal to Simon Black. I then saw Tracc handball to a teammate and I assumed he had claimed the record. Looking on the stats sheets he is attributed with only 39. Very strange. Also, Gawny’s goal, WtF? Viewed from behind the goals, it was unquestionably the wrong outcome. Also, the umpiring was absolutely appalling.
Sorry, just had to get that off my chest so I can enjoy the win in its entirety. In 40 plus years of supporting this wonderful bloody team I’ve realised, I’ve never known this feeling. We are the champions. The anxiety of supporting a team that never wins the big dance is lifted and a contentness has settled. It’s most pleasant.

Trac had 40, then changed to 39. Something to count when watching the replay. Ditto that goal. Happily, it didn’t matter.

I can honestly say that even just two years ago I was convinced I would never see a Melbourne premiership. Dismayed by Landon's and Tomlinson's early form at the club, I wrote some posts to the tune of 'this generation has shown they don't have what it takes to win a flag, we should tear this team down and rebuild again through the draft.'

Suffice to say I have never been more happy to be wrong about anything in my life. I doubt i'll ever fully understand how it happened, but this group found something within themselves, somehow developed into a juggernaut, and have now etched their names into the history books as legends of the Melbourne Football Club. We have witnessed greatness, and I couldn't be more grateful and proud.

Thank you, lads. It's truly hard to express how much this means to us supporters. This will last forever.

Still, umpre decisions invoke discomfort. The second quarter was evidence of this; yet again (that is now accepted) something special must emerge to confront faults in the 'system' of gametime conduct and governance. How many times must a singular team confront such disadadvantage? Ultimately, rejoice. We have been forcced to do it, again. We also did it again, Done well, the Mighty Dees.

Special mention to the Demonland poster who this afternoon calmed me down with a detailed, and what turned out to have been a stunningly accurate, assessment of how the Bulldogs could win only if they managed to hold us to around 70 points. The poster thought this highly unlikely, and turned out to be completely correct. Apologies that I can’t easily find that post to give due credit. Go Dees.

Rejoice we will. Especially if we continue to play like that for seasons to come.

I thought we were gone for all money 5 mins into the third qtr. The greatest second half I’ve ever seen. It still hasn’t sunk in yet. It’s unbelievable ❤️💙

And ... all hyperbole and emotion aside ... it really IS the greatest second half ever seen!

This really hasn't sunken in yet. 30 years of going to just about every game I could in Melbourne and interstate a few times a year, included the dreaded years when there was lucky to be 15,000 at the 'G and we knew we'd get smashed. We stuck with them, stood by them. Massive shame we cannot be there in person but the feeling is surreal at the moment. I'm a grown man and have been in tears for hours. This forum has been such a great way to stay connected. The best feeling would be to be hugging strangers at the MCG tonight after the siren but we've done the best we possibly can. Enjoy this one everyone!

All I wanted is 1 flag.

All I really wanted was a group of players who were proud to play for the club and resilient and didn't back down. Physically or mentally.

And boy did we get that.

The Dogs midfield got on top. They tangled our intercept defenders and had weapons at ground level that would trouble any side. Plus a skilled ball use game to move the ball around.

But a teenage ruckman and a collection of hard nosed maniacs in the midfield said not today and all of a sudden the game completely changed.

Our players were proud and were incredibly resilient and gave us everything we could ever wish for and more.

Hahaha Pickled Fence!!! Luv it

Six pack of Heinekin, half a bottle of Teachers on ice, half a bottle of Wild Turkey on ice, three gin and little tonics. two tawnies and some Mersey Valley cheese, attempting to avoid a glass or two of superb Tokay (Sevenhill), and you suggest that Picket Fence is not an oracle? Demons win, a Premiership in fact, and still, I fully understand Picket Fence's point of view - absolutely.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
