Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

What would a premiership mean to you?

It would be justification and reward for all the times supporters of other clubs have made derogatory comments after you tell them you support Dees.  It would be reward for days of sitting at the MCG with a crowd of 17,000 and just wishing for a competitive performance.  It would be reward for sticking fat through the ‘ 96 merger, the Neeld era and for the nervous mornings during the tanking saga where we constantly worried over what would be leaked to press next.  All of the hardship has made Melbourne supporters the most resilient, rusted on and under estimated - and this is our justification and just reward.

Heaps for myself, but it's not just me, seeing the joy in all the supporters faces who have waited up to 57 years for this to happen would be a joy to behold. When you hear that roar go up when we win or like Max's goals last week, that's what gets a lump in my throat.

I’ve hardly missed a game in 55 years, and all I’ve ever wanted is to see one premiership in my lifetime.

My earliest memories of going in the rooms and meeting my idols, Hardeman, Flower, Alves, Biffin, Baker etc to now seeing the best team we have fielded means a lot.

Bring it home boys!

I have a FB friend (a friend's wife in truth) who posted the most unpleasant taunting post on FB after the Demons missed out on the finals in 2017 by 0.1% (or whatever it was). It was after the Demons lost to the filth in the final round, and WC beat Adelaide to scrape in ahead of Melborne. She is a filth supporter ... Her post was something along the following lines ...

"What's better than Collingwood beating Melbourne? Them missing out on the finals by 0.1%."

Call me overly senstive, but it kinda reeks of taunting the little fat kid when he's just missed out on getting a game in the school footy team after thinking he/she was a real chance to get a game.

If the Demons win, I'm tempted to post "Karma's a [censored]" ... and remind her of her post and draw to her attention the filth's 2021 ... sacked coach, finished 17th, board a shambles, President effectively sacked, independent review into racism, salary cap fiasco involving Treloar, Stephenson & Phillips.

Would that be a bad thing to do?

Hopefully the Dees win so I face this dilemna.

It's really a childhood dream come true at 35=6 years old. I was 16 in 2000, and it crushed me. 2004 lost to the Bombers in the Elimination final which happened to be their last finals win.. then all the dark days in between to be in this position again is amazing, it will mean everything if we can bring the cup home.

means a lot. its hard to make the GF, harder to win it. some of the best players of their era never won a flag for whatever reason.

the fact that your passion and emotion makes no difference each year, only the team can achieve success.

to have so many years of bad luck, lack of passion, ineptitude etc from either players or staff made being a supporter hard. especially as basically every other team has tasted success and just about everyone you know has experienced that winning feeling .. i could only dream about it. even richmond, ninthmond, won a bloody premiership, its just so cruel.

for this team to join the list of premiership sides would be an amazing feeling and i would honestly feel like i have joined a special "club" that goes back over 100 years.

I dealt with all the teasing and ridicule of barracking for Melbourne at school.

My favourite players as a kid were Allen Jakovich, Garry Lyon, David Schwarz, David Neitz and Jeff Farmer.

Enduring all the pain, suffering, frustration and disappointment over the years has been tough.....really tough.

For me, at the very least, if Melbourne are lucky enough to win the Grand Final on Saturday it will probably be one of the most happiest days in my entire life. That's how much it would mean to me.

But anyway, I won't get too far ahead of myself...let's see what happens and hope the Demons get the job done!

Uncharted water for me and the Demons, and after 50+ years, it will be a welcome surprise.

I suspect I'll feel bulletproof, proud, optimistic and that anything is possible for the next 12 months.

Thats what it always looked like for the other supporters whose teams won in.

Go Demons.

Vindication for the past 60 years of supporting. Vindication for putting my children through the pain of being Melbourne supporters. Vindication for the thousands of dollars spent on memberships and merchandise; not to mention alcohol to numb the pain. Retribution to all those who have belittled and patronised us over the years. Joy for my grandchildren who have stuck with me despite being tempted by other, more followable, clubs. Peace for my long suffering wife who has put up with my moods, my frustration and my angry outbursts. Above all, the pure joy of winning the one game that really matters each year.

It's been a long haul and there have been times when I've questioned my sanity but I'm proud to say I've stayed the course and been true to the red and the blue. I deserve this. We all deserve this. This is our time. Make it happen Dees! Do it for the fans. Do it for Ronald Dale Barrasi, Robbie Flower, Jimmie, and all of those who've pulled on the red and the blue and given their all over the past 57 years.

GO DEES!

I know it’s too late, but a mate of mine told me the best way to prevent that was to keep the bottle upside down. That way the cork keeps wet, doesn’t crack and let air in.

Winning would be surreal - who would have thought I'd get to see the Dees in a prelim and GF without leaving my postcode. It feels like some sort of Truman show prank.

I also have confidence that we're we'll set up for sustainable success - so win or loose I'm comfortable with the fact there has never been a better time to watch the footy as a Dees fan in my life time

    GAMEDAY: Rd 09 vs Carlton

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again headlining another blockbuster at the MCG to kick off the round of footy. The Dees take on the Blues and have the opportunity to win their third game on the trot to solidify a spot in the Top 4 in addition to handing the Blues their third consecutive defeat to bundle them out of the Top 8.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
