Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Mate they are not going to drop an AFL captain. Its never happened in AFL history and never will.

Some of you are so thick not to realise that.

He should drop himself. Now that would be leadership. Is the game all about him or the future of the club?

During WW2 the RAF lost all its experienced career pilots and squadron leaders within weeks of hostilities. Later on there were squadron leaders that were only 18-19 years old running the show and doing a heroic job. However it is easier to replace leaders due to attrition. Difficult to shoe horn out current encumbents due to pecking order and political considerations even if they are totally ineffective and over the hill without pain. Takes courage to make the big call and we will never know who can truly lead when opportunities are denied.  Successful clubs make the ruthless decisions when they have too. We are leaving it a little late.

Look...as such am or for it...

Oh wait.  You said.... successful clubs !!!

I want Frost out, the reality is a don’t know if there’s anyone that can come in. Our spine right now is as poor as I’ve seen it for years at both ends.

TMac needs to be given hard words this week, I know the delivery to him has been deplorable but he also hasn’t been putting himself in the right positions.

T Mac’s averaging 3 marks and 0.3 goals a game this season. Absolutely pathetic stats from our so called premier forward.

Yep and considering we don’t have Hogan anymore we need so much more from him. If nothing else he need to impact the contest and ensure they don’t have easy exits.

Bottom line is though there’s so much work we need to do in all parts of the ground. We need to someone to stand the **** up!

No option but to play Frosty on Buddy as he had a good game on him last season and might give him the confidence that he lacks at the minute although he was ok the last game. The thing is that no one put up there hand to replace either Omac today as Casey were disappointing. Petty and Keilty shot blanks.

In Stretch   and Preuss to rotate with Gawn between Ruck and forward and to go tall and outstretch their backs.

IMO if Preuss plays the rotation could be of value. It might be what we  needed from the start.  I can't see  many changes.

I have no outs  although 2 have to be dropped. It will be interesting.    I am not giving up on the season just yet.

Imo it largely won't matter who we pick as they will not increase the skill level above Friday night. We will only show better results when the likes of VDB and Lever return. Until then we will get more of the last five games. However I would try Keilty and / or Preuss, we need someone in the forward line who can stand their ground and take a grab.

Not so sure about 'take a grab' as it sounds and will most probably involve more 'bombing' to so do. Deep forward and flanking leads are the things we need and so far, only the Melk seems able to do this - on occasion. We do miss Hannan's ability to just 'bob up' into the action and rove around for something on which to score. This may well involve another 'just standing their ground', such a Preuss - or the big fella just leading straight out - no-one will get in his way if life itself is important to them. Vanders is a big loss, as well, around whom protection and pathways are made available for the forwards. Chaos footy has led to random efforts and this does not auger well for this year.

If Preuss rests forward next to weid whoever plays us is going to waltzing out of their backline even more freely than they are now. He isn’t going to fix this glaring  issue, he’s going to make it worse.

Can’t be any worse. Our forward pressure is a joke. At least he can put one or two defenders  on their arses and make them pay.  Stir the pot with a bit of beefy mongrel and create opportunities for crumbers as well as hopefully disorganise the defence.

I would go small at either end of the ground.. if TMac plays, it should be on a wing. Frost to stay, Omac to be dropped. I’d play Fritch back with Wagner as medium talls.

Stretch in, would be my only change. Possibly Garlett if we have a need due to injury.

list is as deep as the Clark rubber kids pool on special for $12.90

TMAC is flat out running at the moment.

He looked really sore on Friday.

Absolutely. Cooked right from the first bounce. Not going flat out, taking half steps, allowing the ball to bounce rather than going flat out at it. And to top it off poor body language and complaining to the ump.

We're in trouble unless we reign in our defensive ineptness. Can't even see us beating the Saints at this point.

Are you serious they beat us last season when we were travelling much better than now - they would be licking their lips at the prospect of playing us atm

What options do we have available? Our main training session is on this morning.

Preuss looks a likely inclusion if T Mac is indeed hurt and can’t play. Stretch would be next in line you would think due to his restricted minutes yesterday.

There were two VFL games on Friday, why didn’t  they schedule Casey on that day? The fixturing between VFL and AFL seems out of sync sometimes.

Dermot brereton gave a succinct analysis of tom on sen on saturday crunch time. Basically Tom's a defender trying to be a forward but without a true forwards trick bag. Runs straight at the ball and thats about it. Derm was being fairly honest and instructive and worth a listen.

Seems like Pruess is the likely inclusion for McDonald who is in serious doubt due to his ankle.

Stretch was BOG for me and has been playing really well at Casey the past few weeks so he deserves to be rewarded. Id bring him in for ANB who is just a potato. But due to Goody's love affair for him i would not be surprised if its KK who makes his way out. He's done nothing and another who just looks completely underdone.

Looks like Petty was taken off and rested for the 2nd half of yesterday's game. He could come in for Oscar. Frost wont get dropped as he will likely go to Franklin.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
