Was huge that moment.
They were coming the Cats and was a real momentum killer.

call me crazy but i was biting my fingernails all the way until ANB kicked the goal in the last. We showed against the cats last time that we could bleed quick goals so i think thats fair right!

That's why I grumbled about Weed not wasting 30 seconds when he marked 3 metres out.

MFCSS

Was comfortable all week and said that we would come out firing - and we did. Poo & Wees will be slightly harder but we will overcome them by the end of the third. Dream on guys.

Pregame. As the players lined up in positions and the MFC dropped a beat from Eminem.

To think we could play this?

5 years ago it would have been a ridiculous pompous gimmick...but it clearly shows how far the club has changed.

It is perfect and shows we have many things right on and off the field.

go Dees!

I was pretty confident all night and never thought they were in it. The exact moment though, was a couple of minutes before Hannan kicked the goal, I said to my son, if we kick the next goal it’s over.

Before the game, I saw Brayshaw in the middle with a few of the lads wearing their warm up jackets. The umpires came out to the centre of the square to practice some centre bounces, and you guessed it, Razor went straight up to Brayshaw and shook his hand with a big grin on his face.

I just had the feeling that we were at least, finally not going to be dictated by the system, and if we were to win, it would be on our terms..

That was like 8 minutes in to the game. If you knew at that moment you are a lot more optimistic than me!

He was practicing them before the game and hitting a few.

As was Bailey Fritsch, and his were going straight and long.

This week, Tom putting the icing on the cake that Milkshake baked was the moment I knew we were home.

I still can't wrap my head around him being the best set shot kick around after spending some years cringing when he was kicking it out of the backline.

Yep. Hope he gets a full 23 games at ff next year and wins the Coleman.

What a coach's mare having to cover him Weid and Hogan. A frantic shuffling of pawns.

We’ve been the beneficiaries of two MASSIVE moments in our last two games down to players from the opposition doing two inexplicably bad things and us then taking full advantage.

In the cats game it was Selwoods behind the ball brainfart while Hawkins was lining up for a very likely goal.

This weekend the moment I felt like it was “our night” (despite the scare in the 4th quarter) was when Gunston smashed the ball into the post going for the sexy snap rather than a simple drop punt. From the kick out Gawn beat 3 Hawks players (that got lost by a lot of commentators) and we went Coast to Coast. It defined the whole night, it was an arrogant effort from Gunston and we took full advantage.

I also had a good feeling when just after the pre-game huddle the Hawks players were laughing. Loved that we wiped those smiles away!

When Melksham kicked his second I started booking flights, only looked up again to see Spargo's goal and then for the siren. Felt a bit gloomy at missing out on the last couple of minutes, then I saw how much flights were an hour later and realised I'd done the right thing.

Having read your blog over the years, I felt oddly proud of your composure in that moment. So that's fairly random but also well done I guess?

Did you burst a red or a blue-tinged vessel Supermerc? I need every tea-leave data-point I can get to determine if I watch the upcoming match publicly or attached to my 15-inch computer-screen . . .

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
