I definitely think Brayshaw is our most important mid currently. His calmness when being jumped on/tackled by two other players to simply turn and run or give off a good disposal is amazing. He now has 23 inside 50's over the last three games.

Real test next week. will be interesting to see if the Crows still have key players missing, we might hit them at the right time. Weirdly i'd be more confident against them at Adelaide oval then in the NT.

thank God Tyson wasn't playing today

Why would you say that, I love that Viney is back but you can guarantee he would have had more impact then Viney did today

1st Win I have seen live since 2006 (I am officially not a jinx and can contemplate a return trip to Australia just before the racing carnival. Am trying to remember the last 100 point win.

Tom McDonald, several goal assists to go with 4, BOG for mine. that running back with the flight of the ball and putting his right hand out to juggle and gather the ball was the prettiest piece of footy all day.

Saw Melksham at Jerry's milkbar this morning in Elwood, with his wife and kid, so left him alone, have always thought they made a good breakfast, worked for him.

Oliver need a TV to see his work, I understand why the umps have no clue whether he throws, impossible to see sometimes he is so quick, his hands are up there with Muhammad Ali for speed.

Lever close to BOG, best game I think I've seen him play, getting better every week.

Smith got better and better.

Lewis is putting together his best set of games for Melbourne at the moment (sad to say, but I think he's playing like he might finish this year, he is really putting it all out there)

Vince needs a spell, couple of times when I thought he could chase and didn't, and he is under the microscope every time by the umps.

Hannan - I guess his defensive pressure is what justifies his place, he's not in for disposal efficiency.

Gawn, did some great things.

We had the crowd I thought, for a Carlton home game, was seeing far more red. Loved the team game, they are always looking for the goal assist.

We were lucky with umps, got the rub of the green. I would have felt stiff as a blues fan, especially the free for holding the man when the Carlton player ran back with the flight of the ball (mark of the year that wasnt) super brave. Speaking of which , the umps seem to make it quite tough to call a mark a mark.

A true 4 quarter performance with no passengers. Thought they got a little bit handball happy in the last quarter trying to share it around but only a very minor criticism.

Having bounced back over the last month and beaten 4 objectively inferior teams comprehensively, the challenge now is to bring that standard against a team who played in last year's grand final and whom the football world would consider our equals.

Still a major step forward in that we now seem to be beating comprehensively teams we should beat, something we have not done since the Daniher days, and even then there was a certain inconsistency. Well done Dees, a major break threw.

Oh yes, and I now formally withdraw any criticism of Goody and the coaching staff - they are clearly on the right track. Wonder how long before we have some true believers in the football media!

I just checked where we are on the ladder and we are 3rd. Wow who is this footy club that has suddenly won 4 games in a row and today demolished a team. I don't recognise them..

Its a shame next week we aren't playing at the G. I just think we would have got a really good crowd and built on the momentum of the past 4 weeks.

Kudos to Oliver who had surgery on a broken finger last week and was able to play.

It was just awesome to be at that game today. Loved it.

Thanks, I noticed he kissed the armband after his last goal.

I was told it was his grandmother from friends that met her in Brisbane after our match. They met him as he dedicated the match ball to her. Cannot be sure though.

How about a gloat-free moment.

Re Max going over the mark, I didn't quite catch it, but I thought he just jumped leaning forward and his feet did not go over the mark even when he landed.   If that is right I'm surprised that the rule prohibits that. It must happen all the time when a player just waves his arms about.

Nah, return to gloating.

The ABC said that he marked the ground and stepped back TWO steps and ran up the the mark and blocked the ball. Umpire was badly mistaken. That's why Max was very animated with the ump both prior to the kick and after the goal was scored. Poor decision (AGAIN).

We are so well balanced now and have so many options up forward and in the middle that guys like Hogan and Petracca and such don’t have to have match winning performances.

The additions of Lever down back and the form of TMac and Melksham make us very hard to match up on , and Brayshaw is almost our best mid right now.

Just loved the work by Lewis today. He directs play brilliantly.

Disagree.  As usualI thought the umpires did apoor job but at 26-20 free kicks you can say they favoured us.

Also that free to Fritsch was there.  The holding of his jumper stopped him jumping for the ball.

Yes the free was there, not arguing that, but jeez that was a brave dip by the Carlton fella, my comment was in the spirit of 'the castle' it is the vibe of the thing... if it had been close i'd be whistling a different tune.

Good to see we are sent to Northern Territory next week in the match of the round while Carlton enjoy another Friday night match the following week.

What a game that was. Even contribution across the field. Viney was pretty ineffective but will be much better for the run. For those saying that Hogan didn’t impact the game, I must insist that you look at our goals again. He must have directly assisted 4-5 which is a ridiculous number.

He has become a supreme team player this year. Last year really transformed his from a boy to a man. Our best player wth Max so far this year.

We have momentum now. It’s a 50/50 game against Adelaide next week, win and we really set ourselves up for a good year.

I wonder how many clubs are trying to woo Paul Roos right now?

For some reason I’ve always been suspicious he’d go somewhere, I did think Collingwood and also Carlton. Don’t think his wife would let him again though!

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
