Apparently will be testing out the market after a falling out with the Bulldogs.

Had a poor season but at his best is capable of just about anything and can break a game open like few others.

What would you be willing to give up for him?

Maybe for a packet of chips. Bit of an overrated show pony I reckon.

BT's head would explode trying to call 'the Package' wearing red and blue!

id take him for sure. has shown he has the talent and is still only young.  i would certainly have him before gaff. who knows, maybe he could be reinvented as a backman.

He has the talent to be one of the best in the comp, but these days he seems more interested in trying to get cheap goals out the baxjnand his work rate isn there.

We fortunately have Macca who knows plenty about him.

If we thought we could get him back to his best we'd be silly not to look at him but if there is any doubt we can't afford another guy who picks and chooses when he has a crack

His best is very good but we really dont need him. Have fun in Queensland Jake.

Has hammy issues and poor final series last year. Not a big game player!

PASS

Played very well in the finals the year before.

He clearly hasn't got his head straight at the moment and he's coming off two poor years.  However, he's an All Australian with prodigious talent who's shown that when he's 'on' he has the potential to be one of the best in the biz.

This could be a classic case of buy low, sell high.  Would be interested to see what the Doggies would want for him.

Colin sylvia mark 2.  All the ability but does he want it

Except for that time he was an AA and kicked 56 goals in a season.

Sylvia may have featured in our top 5 in the BnF once in his career if he was lucky?

Stringer has runs on the board and is proven quality. Obviously something has gone on this year. I'm not saying we should get him, but he's nothing like Sylvia.

Goodys game plan requires forward pressure.....

Hogan, Watts and Stringer in the same forward line would be a disaster.

Thought I'd gladly trade Watts for Stringer.

Just what we need.....another Lazy player,no thanks.

The club would be foolish not to inquire.

His 2015 form was just sensational.

Both, Brendan McCartney (ex-coach) and Todd Viney (2012 recruitment manager, also having spent a lot of time around the Vic Country squad) should have a good insight into his character.

I wonder why you suddenly have a so called fallout when a year ago you won a premiership with this team.

Has he sooked it up because Bevo dropped him because he wasn't performing, or did he not think he got club support when his marriage fell apart. Which would surprise me considering how they supported Tom Boyd.

No I don't want him. yes he is only 23 but doesn't chase enough and a bit inconsistent. I hope he sorts it out with the dogs and stays there.

This thread reminds me of the Dustin Martin thread three years ago when nobody wanted him. Stringer has similar potential to Petracca. As he gets older he could develop into a great player, but even if he doesn't reach his potential, he will still be worth more than whatever pick the dogs get for him. It's a yes for me.

wanted neck tatts three years ago, will happily have stringer now

but...he's third / fourth on list of priorities

lever
gaff / whitfield
stringer

I'd go:

Whitfield

Gaff

Stringer

Lever

That order would easily change depending on the asking price of each.

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’
