From Twitter, (for which I make no claims. On the other hand, would make sense)

"Other the Lever and Balic, do the dees have any interest in further midfield/forward depth options, or are they likely to go to the draft?"

"They do, but cap will come into play. Hamstrung somewhat."

There was also this:

Is sharrod Wellingham worth a look a delisted free agent?

Nope. Had one good year at half back for the Eagles but otherwise has been a disappointment. At 29 I doubt he turns it around.

Couldn't see him in red and blue except at Casey.

Eagles losing two best 22 mids in Priddis and Mitchell and delisting Wellingham?

Considering our midfield now bats deeper the WCE I would think it's highly unlikely - even as a small forward.

There it is again.  Watts not judged on his output (a middling player who occasionally turns it on) but on what he could have been.    He suffers because he is a failed messiah.

Absolute rubbish. He suffers because he doesn't push himself to get the best out of himself. I'd say the same about Tmac and Jayden Hunt if they were in his situation and they were taken in the 50s.

It surprises me that you know for a fact he could be better if he just pushed himself more. I'm not so sure.  Sometimes what you get is what you get.

Hard to know and judge on the first 7 years of his career but he had a great preseason going in to the 2016 season and had a career best year. Followed it with a poor preseason and an up and down year consistent with earlier in his career.

There's lots to debate about his role in the team, his role at the club, his value as a player etc but trading him will depend on (a reasonable pick ensuing) if you forgive him for a poor summer and expect him to not produce the same thing again or not.

Jack was so much better than all the kids around him. He never had to push himself.

Sadly that has carried on through his AFL career.

The expectation was deserved. He didn’t push himself nearly as hard as he could have

Which is where he finds himself right now, under achieved sadly

Second this. My brother in law works for st Kevin’s, who played Brighton grammar regularly in the APS system. Said he was super talented and dominated everyone if given space... was weak as [censored] against anyone who wore him like a glove!

So no new names popped up today, no doubt that rumour we were into a gun mid was total rubbish.

Not rubbish I was told we were into a mid who the club rated highly, the term gun appeared through Chinese whispers, Balic was the player

@Petraccattack has every right to be annoyed. He was showered and shaved by 4am ready for the first day of trade week and the MFC once again failed to turn up until it was too late (9am).

According to the AFL site Charlie Cameron won't be signing with Adelaide when his contract expires next year and the club has been told so.

A case of trade me now or I'm gone next year anyway.

Should he be looking forward to a whole season in the SANFL next year?

He has to get changed in the umpires rooms and where a bright pink hat at training.

DO you think Rory Sloane will tell the Cows that he is off at the end of next year?  Imagine the conversation:  “What are your plans, Rory” - “I’m not telling you guys, you might shave my balls whilst I’m asleep!”.  Cows have absolutely won the “Sook it up” medal for 2017!  Who would want to go there?  Fragile culture, by the looks of things.

Dwayne's contempt for Melbourne is as strong as ever. Keeps banging on about Lever being worth two first round picks which seems like an attempt to drive his price up.

Also thinks (hopes) other clubs should be trying to "sneak in on the deal".

The best candidate? Surprise surprise: Geelong.

And Geelong have exactly how many first round picks? None. They have 20 & 33.  They also want Ablett and Watts and and and...Geelong no chance.

Derwayne continues to prove that he is an incompetent idiot, incapable of coherent thought.

Someone else mentioned that. What a joke.

On one hand he is saying he is worth 2 first round picks. He then proceeds to suggest Geelong who don't even have a first round pick this year. Who pays these guys?

He has a mirror instead of a screen on his laptop, and he is constantly saying "ok google who is the handsomest of them all?"

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’
