Collingwood will come out firing and want to win this one badly, it's their Grand Final after all. Ethan's prediction: Jesse will back up last weeks game and kick another 6.

I'm confident Adelaide will do everything they can to win, it's not ideal to go into a finals campaign with 2 losses from previous 2 games they will want to win

B: Michael Hibberd, Oscar McDonald, Neville Jetta

HB: Nathan Jones, Tom McDonald, Jayden Hunt

C: Jordan Lewis, Christian Petracca, Christian Salem

HF: Clayton Oliver, Jesse Hogan, Jake Melksham

F: Jeff Garlett, Cam Pedersen, James Harmes

Foll: Max Gawn, Dom Tyson, Bernie Vince

I/C: Jack Watts, Angus Brayshaw, Mitch Hannan, Alex Neal-Bullen

Emg: Josh Wagner, Declan Keilty, Corey Maynard

In: Salem, Watts

Out: Billy Stretch, Josh Wagner

Apart from Jack Viney missing, that is probably our strongest team. I like the inclusion of Salem and Watts. It does strengthen our team.

Lets see how much Watts wants to keep his place in the team. I expect him to respond well. But well done to Goodwin who just treated Jack as any other player, didnt care that he was a former number 1 pick. He did what he thought was best for the team.

Just looking at the line up, if we do make finals and Viney comes back who would make way for him? I honestly could not look at that 22 and say that player should be out.

I reckon we'll get on a roll. 10 goal win.

That would be sweet!

Maybe last week was a better win than it looked, the Lions have gone into this week unchanged.

Viney in for Vince or Hannan is our best team apart from perhaps Frost in there somewhere.

Absolutely love the changes.  Very strong side, even without Viney.  On paper it looks like a very well balanced side that can score through multiple options.

I would love to see us put them away early and hold them at arms length for the rest of the day.

Great Ins. Jack looked like he had his confidence back watching him play last week in the VFL and I think he'll play with a bit of freedom this week given he's not expected to be the ultimate target up forward. I think we'll see a far different JW to what he dished up on his return against Port.

Hope Salem also slots in nicely again.

It's going to be tough at the selection table in 2 weeks if the above two play well and we win. Who goes out for Viney?

Hogan needs to lift.

Id just leave Jesse in the square all day. Dont bother running up the ground. a few times last week we got the ball, looked up and there was no one in our forward line to kick it to. Just leave him there.

Why is it their Grand Final?? The only thing they will be looking forward to will be Mad Monday and a trip overseas

Goodwins comments on Vineys injury are a bit of a worry. If it's bone related you'd think it's a hotspot. Hopefully this isn't or  doesn't lead to a similar injury as Trenners last foot injury. Does anyone have a bit more of an educated opinion on what his injury is likely to be and whether he'll make it back for the first final (provided we make it)?

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team.
