Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

No argument from Findlay.  Hope Dees don't use him if a player we really need is sent in.

Everyone holds their integrity and next time we're there we've a better chance of being believed.

So are they offering up Farhours head on a platter before handing out penalties ?

I'm comfortable with that, it was a cheap dog act. Will struggle to get back into the seniors before the end of the year you'd think.

I'm sorry, but until we take a stand on this unprovoked violence it will never end. He has to go otherwise the AFL social responsibility policies are a joke.

There  is no comparison between Bugg and Houli. Bugg's was a premeditated act of unprovoked violence. Houli was at least in the vicinity of the play and done in response to another player restraining him from getting into the play. There is no comparison.

I at least do not want thugs playing for the football club I have supported for 50 years. Hard at the ball yes, and uncompromising most definitely, but this is something else.

I am very much encouraged by the leadership Nathan Jones has displayed on this. Haven't regrettably yet seen anything similar from the coaching staff.

Premeditated? Inventing alternative facts now. This is a farce.

Bugg should be hung and have his nose hairs plucked out with pliers.

Hard to argue it to be honest.

6 weeks is the verdict.  Nothing surprising there.

Clarry wacked his chin on a players back, to explain why it was sore.

Houli was breaking a tackle, pushing the player off, but somehow knocked him out cold.

There was a defence here, chose not to fight it.   Fair enough, but you get the maximum.

TBH Bugg has been punished not only for the act (which was cheap), but he's also been punished for the timing (doing the week after Houli). As usual the AFL react to things as a whole rather than as individual cases. This sanction is more about making the competition look like it takes a hard line on thugs than the individual incident.

Eitherway, its not a massive loss on field for us I don't believe, albeit Bugg has been handy this year.

BANG!!!

Basher Houli was so very lucky...

Houli doesn't play for Melbourne. Don't think highly of Bugg as a player ( poor disposal ) but 6 weeks for a love tap is amazing.

Well summed up, WA.  My exact feelings on the matter.

Jones was told to make a statement.....

Houli was stopping a DH grom grabbing him on the cherries......

Just about every GF i can remember has a nut nuf in it that helps by some nefarious means get them over the line.....

I predict Bugg with my urging will make it back big......

Even though they were dressed in Sydney F C jumpers it was the Media standing around Bugg in that photo with a shredded top he looked conspicuously like someone from that night of the Last Supper. Who are they to judge............

One too many for mine. The tribunal chairman said the jury should give him a week less for his remorse, guilty plea, etc. If they did, then it was 7 down to 6, which is the maximum the AFL asked for.

6 down to 5 would have been more appropriate I think.

4, 5, 6 weeks...seriously in the context of our present injury crisis, it's probably weeks 1-3 which will hurt the club more.

I think this issue has become badly over hyped and overplayed in the media, bit at the end of the day, Bugg's stupidity and lack of disipline has cost the club at a time of need ...he's not the only one at the MFC in that boat this year though (thinking mainly of Lewis Rd 2).

Actually feel sorry for Buggy. Splashed all over the news as if he is some  kind of cold blooded murdere. I feel bit bad after what i said after the game. Its no wonder AFL players struggle with depression with the [censored] they cop on social media.

Head up Buggy!

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
