Good bout of jovial banter well done mate

A football God and I had the privilege of seeing him play
-
Well the thought did cross my mind I must admit.
-
Interesting post, your not by any chance on the XXXX at the moment?
-
M8 not interested in playing games, Spencer may be redrafted by MFC, I believe that is a door open if he can't get a senior gig elsewhere.
-
Thanks m8

Not every clubman is part of the leadership group. We know the family and Jack, he's stuck fast thru a lot at Melbourne and signed a new contract, Neeld nearly got rid of him, but he's never requested to leave.. This is how he's rewarded. You have your point of view - I have mine.
-
Sorry to tell you but Jack is not the sole reason we don't come close to what the last two premiers have dished up in their respective finals campaigns. His departure does not put us closer either. This thread's got momentum because a section of the MFC supporter base do give a damn about the ousting of a clubman. But , as I said in another post; agree to disagree.
-
Bang on - the vitriol some Demon "supporters" show Jack Watts is disappointing. I'm sure if he goes to Port he will have a few good seasons with less pressure. Can't change people's perceptions here, to me it is a bad decision, but familiarity breeds contempt and that is a big part of the problem.. Posters and supporters feel cheated , frustrated at the fact that Jack is not the mercurial saviour he was expected to be. People who want to trade him out look likely to get their wish. For me just have to agree to disagree I suppose. Another divisive post season decision by the MFC in the last 10 years.
-
Top notch assessment, I would agree with this. I believe there is a place for him as his decision making was excellent.

Didn't turn the ball over, apart from one disposal that was a bit ambitious, kept his head when in possession, played a kick behind the play at times,to compensate for speed - Boak burnt him once or twice, but he was not always on him when Boak slotted his 4 goals. Cool head read the play well, didn't panic when he had it & used both feet.

Thank you for realising how obnoxious your post sounded. Footy clubs are built on passion. Everyone knows Trenners is up against it, but we all wish him well as an ex-MFC Captain whose career was cruelled by injury.

Jack Trengove, the injustice of it all. Not Goody's fault.. Like Grimes, a lamb to the slaughter.. Terrible waste. I remember the day he and Tapscott were having a kick to kick at Casey during a Demons training session, the first year of being drafted. My semi-autistic son joined in and it was a three way kick session. There is no justice in this world..He is an outstanding young man.

Yeh second that... Buggy took it like a man unlike that spider working for the AFL

Red and Blue forever - forever Red and Blue.

The 70's and 80's were worse than now, I clearly remember Matthews taking out Giles and Smith and remember Jarrot dropping Matthews in retaliation for his dog act on Giles at the MCG. I clearly remember the 10 minute all in brawl against Carlton at the MCG in the second quarter after Rhys Jones shirt fronted Elshaug. I clearly remember Big Carl 's last game against Collingwood where he laid out Kevin Morris and we were all joking about it. I remember Ted fidge taking tony shaw out, Grinter' s indiscretions, against Eagles, Essendon and Footscray in 87-89, O'Dwyer was lucky not to be suspended in 88 in the finals against Collingwood where he punched Fellowes to the jaw and then moved off before he could get reported. He got caught the following week against Sartori.and missed the GF.... More cameras now more tv exposure, if that was the case in those days there would have been more suspensions. It was very much a different game then.
-
Yep don't disagree with that, probably get internally fined as well, he was remorseful, he played a very poor game after that. He's not in the realm of Leigh Matthews, David Rhys Jones or Barry Hall.
-
Buggy made a mistake, a reckless act like Hogan like Lewis, like Fidge, like Grinter, like O'Dwyer, like Hughes like Pike like another 50+ MFC players have done. He will probably be lucky receiving only 6 weeks. He probably won't get another gig this season in the seniors. If he did that in King Street he would end up arrested - lucky for him it is on a sports field. Society and the AFL have a different view on this type of incident from bygone days - but the Bugg hating on here about get him out of the club, not what this club stands for etc is such an over reaction and typical on this site of people turning on their own players like something akin to the Roman mob in the arenas

Beamer opens up about Neeld relationship.
Number of the Beast replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
I had five close connections through five players families at the club during these years (Bailey-Neeld). He proceeded to lose virtually the whole group in one pre-season bar his cronies he brought into the club. We were lucky Roos came on board because we would have not had a team worth fielding otherwise. -
Bang on- Bigred
