Just looking at the 3rdq again which was 6.1. Just wondered how many 6+ goal 3rd q we've had this year? It seems apart from 1 or 2 games we've pretty much been nailing the premiership quarter.

So proud of our team, especially those that have had to wear so much criticism or setbacks and able to rise above it and perform as they have recently!.

Takes real grit to do that.  Well done guys

I thought that Jetta was fantastic yesterday, in fact the whole team deserved points . Super proud of all of them !

For me the most pleasing thing about the result is that list above. Well done lads!!

Bulldogs have not been beaten at Etihad or in fact Victoria this year before yesterday's game.

We executed a great game plan

Jetta is not first picked each week, his name & Jones are permanently painted on the board. No discussion required.

What a fantastic win at Etihad, to beat the Dogs on their own turf was exquisite, the boys played hard close checking footy and added dash, class and will to win, I am still feeling quite exalted. What a game. Bugg sure copped a lot of treatment during the game, very tough unit that one. Go Dee's!!!!

The loss to Longmire's Legions was the worst the Bullies had experienced under Bevo...until yesterday ;)

This is my favourite line written in the media about the game:

"The Demons hunted and stalked their prey with the hunger and cheek of a pack of starved hyenas for a full 120 minutes".

Jay Clark, The Australian.

I enjoyed that one too Lucifer's, but I liked this one from the same article even better:

"After a decade out of finals, it was plain to see in the white-eyed aggression and desperation of Michael Hibberd and Nathan Jones that this Melbourne team is as driven and as selfless as any in the league."

How good were Hibbo and Jonesy's acts (?), but the real beauty is that they typified the approach of our entire team throughout the game.  Never in a million years were we going to lose, because we would simply go to another level at the slightest hint of a challenge.  As a former great of our Club once said:  "Whatever it takes".  Love the Dees!!

Anyone know the last time the Dees won all 4 quarters?

Jst researched my own question..

Rd9 v Brisbane last year we won all quarters. Still a pretty rare event. Partocularly against reigning Premiers

Lots of discussion in the media about what has happened to the Bulldogs running game.  Yes, in part it is because the likes of JJ are not getting as much space, they aren't attacking the ball, have a hangover etc.

But I see an elephant in the room:  umpires are paying free kicks against them this year, especially throwing and incorrect disposal when tackled.  This slows their game, causes a turnover and the bulldogs can't or won't run the other way.

I rarely, comment on umpires but this year they need to be applauded for the more equal treatment they are giving the Bulldogs.  I read somewhere they have been pinged 43 times so far this year for throwing vs 16 times for the whole of last year (26 games)

The puppies are fair weather sailors really and when the wind changes they have been found out.

I've just finished watching the replay of yesterdays cracking win, and I don't know if its just me or what, but listening to the commentators on Fox sports, we had amongst them in particular Huddo, he is so biased against us.

He seemed to spend much of his commentary umpiring the game and calling out his perceived infractions committed by us and hardly, if at all, by the Dogs! What a little sycophant. Now I know I am one-eyed, but he is just so blatantly obvious in what should be non partisan situation. I think Dwayne Russell has those leanings also. But Hudson, he has that face I'd just like to punch!

Oh well perhaps I'm just a bit too sensitive for my own good . Go Dees

My neighbour is s crows suporter and when we lost to them last season I texted him and said "ur team did well congrats".

This season when we beat them into submission I didnt get a call or text or anything.

Im surprised that a crows fan can acknowledge our team and it's hardness.

My neighbour it such a fruit tingle and obviously a sore loser.

Agree and brad Johnson is a glorified dogs supporter and it's pathetic they let them commentate on their past teams.

Couldnt give the dees a compliment and it was disgraceful tbh.

Did anybody take notice of the 1/2 time siren as Watts was taking his run up , the siren had this little triple blast after a prolonged blast as if to put Wattsy off !! and while Im at it ,The Dogs fan group behind the goals were waving this gigantic flag the size of half the section! Anyway a fantastic goal kicked under extreme duress

Its not just you and he has form. It spoils the commentary and was distracting. We did get the rub of the green but that is often the case with the team that is playing better.

Steady on!  Paul Roos is totally biased to the Dees when commentating on Fox and Ox is unashamedly a Dees tragic on SEN.

Sam Frost is turning into a total gun.   He might be as fast as Hunt, which is crazy considering how tall he is.

There are rumours of trouble in the Dogs camp with some players at odds with each other. Anyone hear anything about that? Was some talk on SEN today about it but nothing definitive....
